Chrissy “The steepness of the stairs needs to be emphasised in the blurb of the Bach.”
The left hand ascending rail is flush to the wall at the top so you cannot grip it. The right hand ascending rail needs to be removed and replaced with a railing that runs the full length of the stairs. A warning for those with small children need to be included. It is safer to walk down backwards from the top. The cleaner had not looked under the beds as I found clothes from the visitors before us in the sleepout. The toilet roll holder and towel racks are not secured and need replacing. The shower is awesome water pressure. The upstairs beds are really comfortable. The round dining table is great for 4 people to sit around and chat. Good fridge.

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.
The property
Pihanga Cottage is a 2 bedroom Kuratau bach. Enjoying a peaceful and spacious section, this cute and cosy Kuratau house is a great wee base for your next Lake Taupo adventure... This 2 storey Kuratau Bach includes bright and comfortable open plan living downstairs, with easy outdoor flow for summer getaways... There is plenty of space for boat parking and summer games with the family, or chill out for lazy days on the patio! Upstairs at this Kuratau accomodation, bedroom 1 has a queen bed, while bedroom 2 is fitted with a double bed plus a single bed. The downstairs living area also has a double futon bed when required, making this an easy set up for couples or a small family... Enjoy this tranquil and private location, just an 8 minute walk or a 1 minute drive to the lake edge, or head into Taupo less than an hours drive from your door. Pihanga Cottage has you covered for a low key lake base at Kuratau!
As shown in the photos, this two-storey property has a steep stairwell which may not suit mobility impaired or young guests. To reduce the risk of a fall, guests should always use the handrail on the stairs.
There is very limited pantry space at this property.

Located on the Southern end of Lake Taupo, Omori is a more secluded area around the lake. There's plenty of native bush and bushwalks to do here, as well as water-based activities on the lake such as kayaking, swimming, boating and water skiing. Because the area stretches over a hill, most of the holiday homes have a great view of the lake.
