Go Surfing in the Famous Manu Bay
Known for its left-hand point break with one of the longest waves globally along with consistent wave conditions year-round, Manu Bay is definitely a surf haven for surfers. See the Majestic Bridal Veil Falls
Bridal Veil Falls is a 55-metre high waterfall located approximately 15 kilometres southeast of Raglan. The name “Bridal Veil” is derived from the way the water cascades down the cliff, resembling a bridal veil. Walking tracks are available in the area leading to different viewing platforms. You’ll get to immerse yourself in the lush native forest that surrounds you as you make your way to the waterfall.
You can get to Bridal Veil Falls from Raglan via car which would take you around 20-25 minutes. Facilities in the area include picnic areas, making it a great place to relax with your friends and families.
Spot Dolphins and Whales off the Coast of Raglan
Situated on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand, Raglan is in the perfect location to spot dolphins and whales (when in season). There are plenty of ways to do this, you can either join a boat tour or join a kayak/stand up paddle boat tours. Aside from marine wildlife spotting, you can also discover Raglan’s stunning coastline, sea caves and hidden bays.
Getting to Your Raglan Accommodation
Raglan is easily accessible by car from Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga. From Auckland, it is approximately a 2 hour drive southwest, 2.5-3 hours drive from Tauranga, and only a 45-minute drive from Hamilton. Public transportation is also available if you’re leaving from Hamilton.
