Sally “The outside conditions of the property were disappointing but once a complaint was made, the remedy was swift and effective.”
- Sally, April 2024 -
Rowan “Centrally located, clean and tidy, comfortable beds, great shower, warm and toasty….”
This property is a gorgeous home away from home. You could tell the owners have gone the extra mile to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us.
- Rowan, March 2024Graeme “Need more plates, only having 4 meant when friends came for dinner we didn’t have enough plates.”
- Graeme, January 2024Te Mape Fred “It was amazing to stay here.”
It was a great community, near the shops. But the house was comfortable and had everything we needed. Thank you
- Te Mape Fred, October 2023Andrew “Lovely, deceptively large villa.”
Very comfortable and tastefully furnished.secure perimeter for dogs was great.highly recommend.
- Andrew, March 2023Robyn “When we arrived the beds hadn't been stripped and had been slept in.”
We were providing our own linen so had to strip the beds prior to making. Blankets etc on the beds were dated and didn't look like they had been cleaned for quite a while, along with other furnishings like chair cushions and curtains etc, Outdoor furniture was grubby and needed a good scrub if you wanted to use it. Location was noisey due to single glazing on windows. Smoke detector started beeping due to what we suspect was a low battery. We were unable to stop this due to the high sealings and no ladder available so we decided to go home a night early rather than have another restless night. In general we were very disappointed especially given this was an expensive night rate and our expectations were not met.
- Robyn, February 2023Thank you for your review, Robyn. At Bachcare, we take cleaning very seriously and have strict guidelines in place to maintain our high standards. We are sorry that in this case, this was not what you have experienced. We will follow this up with our local team along with the other maintenance that will be required. Bachcare
Graeme “Would love a bbq to cook on too”
- Graeme, January 2023Andrew “Lovely ye olde world house.”
Oozing with character but many modern features. Beautiful gardens and lots of verandah and couches for outdoor relaxing. And such a pleasure to be able to have our dogs with us.Probably would'nt have come if dogs couldnt stay.rare to find such a place.everything in walking distance. Good coffee shop literally over the fence.
- Andrew, December 2022Hayley “Beautiful comfortable accommodation in a lovely little town.”
Hope to be back!
- Hayley, December 2022Charlotte “We had a lovely stay at the villa.”
It had plenty of different living spaces to relax in and the garden gave it a tropical feel. Had everything you need at the house. Highly recommend a stay here!
- Charlotte, October 2022Chris “Good space, great location.”
Would like to mention, some areas are pretty cold (conservatory at the back). Would be perfect for summer stay but in winter months maybe an extra heat pump in that area (the heat from pump in the kitchen area doesn't reach the back). Lovely house all in all!
- Chris, September 2022Brent “Loved the cool property.”
Spacious, great furnishings. Brilliant location. Would definitely book again if we return to Mapua.
- Brent, June 2022Angela “Lovely location, very central to Mapua, just a few minutes walk.”
Very comfortable sofa and beds, lovely dinning area for family meals. We found the property to be extremely cold in May, especially the bedrooms and bathroom that have no heating but it's a much older property with lots of gaps and drafts and limited sun when we stayed.
- Angela, May 2022Agnes “Lovely relaxing house close to the beach, between a Cafe and a tennis court.”
Walking distance to Four square supermarket, playground, pub, shops and art galleries. Easy to make daytrips to Kaiteriteri or Nelson from this location. Awesome beaches and mountain bike trails.
- Agnes, January 2022Graeme “Great place, great location and will definitely book again”
- Graeme, January 2022Cathy “This was a dream home for our family, including a dog, to stay for two nights.”
Decor, Home comfort, Facilities, Garden, Location was 6+ stars. An asset for bachcare. Absolutely supurb.

Recommended this property for a short stay in the Tasman Area. Great shopping in Mapua, coffee next door excellent, along with fresh "Pain au Chocolat" to die for...

Mapua is a popular visitor location, as the hub for the Tasman and Coastal Highway areas. Mapua lies at the mouth of the Waimea Inlet, which is the largest estuary in the South Island, meaning the area is home to a vast selection of wildlife. The Mapua wharf is where most water activities depart from.
