“1 The dishwasher leaked ++++ I had to soak up the leak with bath towels- needs urgent attention.”

2 Coffee machine not emptied from last clients. 3 Toilet door was locked from inside & we had to fine a metal coat hangar to manage to open it. 4The green waste bin; someone had placed some seafood waste in it & it was stuck to the bottom and smelt very very bad!!!! 4 Sink- drainage is a concern- clogging in kitchen sink. 5 Water in shower was very inconsistent= on minute hot, next cold- needs to be regulated?/ somehow. 6 Cupboards generally not easy to fine things- eg pot cupboard- needs some ...

“Great house, very clean and tidy.”

There was a note saying the heat pump wasn't working... this was a bit annoying as the mornings were a little chilly without it. The fire was perfect in the evenings though! The power points in the bedroom closest to the road weren't working when we arrived... we did figure out the fuse had blown but for people less 'switched on' this could have been a problem! Overall though we had a lovely stay and recommend this property. Thanks for sharing it!

“We feel that if this lovely place is unoccuppied 24 hours before holiday makers arrive , it would be great to have the hot water cylinder turned on 24 hours before hand.”

As we had no hot water at all until the next day at Lunchtime. otherwise we arrived to a lovely warm house, which was very welcoming. We had a lovely view from the lounge, and enjoyed seeing the native birds in the area especially the resident Native Wood pigeon. will come again, Thank you.

“The house was very comfortable and clean, we enjoyed the view and appreciated the garden.”

We also enjoyed being able to just walk to downtown Akaroa for the shops and restaurants. We arrived very late on a rainy evening so it would have been nice to have the heat pump working but once we got the fire going, it warmed the living space very effectively. We would happily stay there again.

“The house, rooms, wifi and kitchen facilities were good and the batch was very clean.”

Unfortunately the hot water had been turned off when we arrived and we didn't realise until the following morning (we weren't informed about this anywhere). We then turned the system on but it took the cylinder 24 hours to heat up. This meant that we didn't have hot water for the first day and a half. We contacted batch care mutliple times over the Saturday and their responses, particularly on Saturday afternoon (the morning assistant returned our calls and checked up regularly) were very unprofessional. We were told the property manager would check in with us which they never did and the afternoon helpdesk also didn't follow up on what they said they would do. We were extremely disappointed with this as it meant that we didn't know what was happening; whether the system was faulty or whether we had done something wrong. Also, not having access to hot water over Friday and Saturday for general cleaning and showering three children and two adults was really not acceptable.

Firstly, let me apologise that the communication your received from us was so poor. This has since been investigated and addressed with our teams. The property owner has informed us that there may be some confusion around the hot water cylinder controls, so there is now a clear label next to the switch. It is disappointing to hear of this issue, as I can understand this would have a significant effect on the overall experience of staying here. I am glad that this has now been addressed. Bachcare
