“House was clean and very well equipped, private and relaxing.”
We had a wonderful stay here and loved the views across the mountains and water, and spaces to spread out. We very much appreciated the downstairs air conditioning, and opening the windows upstairs helped to cool the house in a very hot week. The windows don’t have screens or limiters on them though so it would be very easy for small children to crawl/fall out. The driveway was workable but very steep and tight. “If only it would have been cleaned.”
..
It's a lovely space, with a gorgeous view from each and every one of the many windows. The bed was comfy and the linen provided clean, but that was the only thing that was clean about the place. We might have been the first guests of the season or of this decade. (The brand new wheelie bins outside were still sealed shut with instructions inside that indicated they were to be used starting two months prior.)
There were cobwebs in every corner of the ceiling and dead bugs everywhere - and then I do mean everywhere: behind the toilet, in the bathroom, even in the cups in the cupboard. I won't even describe the state of the oven. The only fix would have been to move somewhere else entirely, which we seriously debated, but we simply did not have the time for that.

Thanks for taking the time to review your stay at Hillside Haven. We apologise that the cleanliness of the property was not up the our usual standards. This was the first booking since the new rubbish and recycling system had been rolled out, however the bins should have all been ready to use for your stay. You will be happy to know that our local service team have addressed the issues you have raised to ensure future guests are not impacted.

“When you're paying such a high cleaning fee and rental cost, it would make sense for bed sheets/linen to be provided.”
This is in line with AirBNB for example, where stuff like that is always included, and cleaning fees are often lower. There's also the "expectation" that the bach is left in immaculate, as found condition - So how can you justify charging such a high cost for cleaning?
I also did not like the system of having Zero contact with the bach owner whatsoever, not that I needed it in this case, but AirBNBs system of direct chat with the owners is far superior, and makes the experience feel much more homely and engaging. This is more of a BachCare issue however, not the property owner's.
The place itself specifically was great though, and as described. We all had a good Easter weekend. :)

Hi Jamie, thank you for providing feedback on your recent stay, and glad to hear you found the property itself to be great and that you enjoyed your Easter weekend.. Although you did not require any help during your stay, similar to Airbnb, we do have a dedicated Guest Sales and Service team and local property manager that can assist should the need arise. Thanks again for your note, and hope to host you again.
