Susan “I was advised that the oven did not work but we could use the hobs and microwave, that was not good enough and asked that the oven be fixed which they were able to do before we arrived.”
What I don't understand is, why was that was not done in the first place and then no need for phone calls and asking for alternative accommodation if they were unable to fix but otherwise the property was lovely.

- Susan, November 2024Thank you for leaving your review Susan, we appreciate it. Our local Property Manager was concerned the part for the new element would not arrive in time - both the property manager and electrician made extra effort to chase up the part and it managed to arrive just a few hours before your arrival, with electricians busy schedule, he managed to install it with minutes to spare. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to hosting you again soon. Bachcare

Grace “This is a gorgeous home to be able to stay at!”
The home came equipped with everything needed to enjoy a weekend away in the beautiful bay. There wasn’t any more that we could have asked for :)
- Grace, October 2023Nigel “I see little point in completing this feedback request as I have emailed Bachcare on two occasions while staying in the property, and have yet to have the courtesy of a reply.”
However, we got off to a bad start as the front door needs a really good push to open it, and once inside there were no instructions re any of the appliances, the WiFi codes or information re rubbish disposal, restaurants, things to do. We found them a few days late high up on a shelf in one of the cupboards! We eventually made contact with Sonja, the local representative, but it was very frustrating that she was aware of some of the problems we encountered, but had done nothing about them. We spent the entire four week booking with a dishwasher that didn’t work, Sonja knew it didn’t clean things properly, and eventually an engineer replaced some parts in our last week but it still didn’t work properly. The owner did upgrade the WiFi when it stopped which was helpful, and Sonja did leave us a small parcel of goods as a gesture for the issues we had faced. It is obvious to us that owners who rent out properties such as this do not expect to cater for anybody who stays for more than a few days, caters in, or uses the laundry facilities. The pots and pans provided were unusable and needed replacing. We had to buy pots, pans and a large Pyrex dish for preparing meals as we don’t eat out every night. There was no ironing board until we complained, and we eventually discovered from the dishwasher engineer that the fridge/freezer was set on the wrong settings. This could be a very nice property in a decent location, but it needs money spending on it to update the many things I outlined in my unanswered email. Enough said! We actually left the house a couple of days before our rental finished to drive up to Hamilton before moving on to the Bay of Islands. Got out 72 hours before Cyclone Gabrielle arrived to devastate Hawkes Bay, we count ourselves lucky for that, The delays in getting to Paihia are another story!
- Nigel, January 2023Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback Nigel and we are so very sorry that you experienced this. We can assure you that this has now all been addressed and thankfully you managed to depart prior to the cyclone hitting Hawke's Bay. Bachcare
Ruth “The house was fantastic.”
Better than the listing, I think. It was so comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. I will definitely return and recommend it. Nice that it was also walking distance to the Te Mata walk and also the eateries in town.
- Ruth, January 2023Janine “This was absolutely perfect.”
It actually is nicer than what the photos depict - beautiful inside and lovely outdoor living.
- Janine, January 2023Ashley “It was absolutely beautiful!”
Couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable and clean stay
- Ashley, November 2022Holly “Place was lovely, very cute and spacious at the same time.”
All of us girls just loved it and the location was great too. Only down fall was that a couple of the glasses were put away in the cupboard with lipstick on them so we did have to re wash some dishes but other than that we really enjoyed the space. We would definitely go back!
- Holly, November 2022Thank you for your review Holly and we are sorry to hear about the glasses that had been put away uncleaned. We will take more care moving forward to check these. We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back again in the future. Bachcare
