Diana “We arrived at 3:30 and found the property tidy but towels in the bath.”
I called the 0800 number and they “would get back to me”. They advised that the property manager would be arriving at 4:30. What they didn’t say was that the house hadn’t been cleaned at all. At 4:30 people arrived to do this and were there for an hour or so. The issue I have with this is that they didn’t tell us in advance and they didn’t tell us when I called. They were very nice and communicative Once they arrived and post with follow up phone calls. But they didn’t tell us ...
But they didn’t tell us that they needed to return to replace lightbulbs, and just turned up. And no extension to our exit was offered as compensation even just a “hey sorry about that will give you late checkout at 11 am” would have been nice! The new white wear and bathroom facilities are appreciated, as is the new flooring and attempt to paint the internal walls to freshen them up. However, two key feedbacks. One the mattresses need replacing, they feel and look old. The other is the external maintenance. Around the barbecue was filthy, the windows need washing the lawns need mowing and general yard maintenance is overdue (weeds, cobwebs etc) The neighbour was delightful kept an eye on us and supplied us with some smoked fish, what a lovely man ! although the boundary which now has no low bushes impacted on the privacy of the front yard and would be an easy improvement to the property. We chose this property based on availability cost and location. Whilst it’s not Lakeside as I would think of it; it certainly was a short walk to the lake and very convenient to the 2 mile yacht club, the fish box and convenience store. Another plus was NO traffic noise ! It is so peaceful.
Thank you for your review Diana, we are sorry to hear there were issues with the property not being ready for your stay and the lack of communication around this. We have raised this with our team and have worked to improve this process, so it doesn’t happen again. We do hope we can host you again in the future. Bachcare
