    “Brilliant place to stay.”

    The patio area with outdoor fireplace and long table was an amazing space to hang out in. Even in the middle of winter, with the clear blinds down and fire blazing, it was toasty warm. The house is super handy to the boat ramp and fishing rivers.

Linen

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

This lakefront holiday home complete with sleepout and incredible outdoor entertaining area is just the place to do it. Welcome to Waters Edge Retreat! Bring the family, bring the boat, and bring your sense of adventure - there’s room for it all here on the shores of Lake Taupo. Set at the back of a large section with views for days, Waters Edge Retreat has everything you need for a relaxing and carefree stay. A spacious open-plan living area is light and bright thanks to floor to ceiling glass doors that provide seamless indoor-outdoor flow onto the courtyard. In the morning, make yourself a fresh cup of Nespresso coffee and wander down to the lakefront to scope out your fishing spot for the day. Come evening, spark up the BBQ to grill your fresh catch of the day, and share an alfresco meal at the table, large enough for the whole family. You won’t miss out on dining with a view on those mid-year getaways; the courtyard can be closed and an outdoor fireplace lit, to create a cosy space to eat and chat long into the evening. Make the house cosy and warm with the log burner before you settle in for the night. Two bedrooms in the main house have luxurious king size beds, while a sleepout offers bunks and singles. A generous sized bathroom in the main house provides conveniences for everyone, including a corner bath perfect for the kids. For an fun day here at Waters Edge Retreat, why not grab the kayaks for an early morning paddle on the lake, then come home and roll out the table tennis table or set up one of the many board games for some family fun! Winner shouts the afternoon tea at the Licorice Cafe just five minutes walk up the road. Or venture further afield to the Trout Farm in Turangi or the hot pools in Tokaanu, both less than 15 minutes drive away. Why not take a scenic drive along the lake to Taupo, or through the dramatic Tongariro National Park to Whakapapa! Who needs a TV when it's just you, the family, and a location that can’t be beat. This is Waters Edge Retreat!

There are life-jackets available to use with the kayaks, but we do recommend that guests bring their own well-fitting life-jackets to ensure safety.

The single pull out and king single beds in the sleepout can be joined together to make a queen bed. Please tell us which configuration you require at least three days before your stay so we can arrange the appropriate linen.

Please be aware the sleepout at this property is accessed externally and the bathroom is inside the main dwelling.
