Irene “Everything was clean and it was very comfortable, with lots of room.”
- Irene, September 2023 -
Debbie “The first main is issue was the queen bed downstairs-a very very old combination of three saggy mattesses 30yr old mattresses with god knows how old second mattress on top-looks,home made?”
then an old piece of sponge with black hairs on it.- It was absolutely disgusting!!! it was incredibly uncomfortable and we had the worst sleep and bitten. The next other serious concern is in the down stairs bathroom our son walked out with a pottle of Sudomyl pills in his hand that was sitting in the vanity cupboard under the sink just sitting there. This was incredibly dangerous to any child to ingest given there was at least 10 pills in the pottle!!! The other bed mattress protectors in at least three other beds where filthy with marks and stains which was disgusting The oven dials is worn off so you cant see what each turn of the setting are. There was only one bedside lamp and even the shape wasn’t bent on an angle making reading very differcult The windows were mouldy above our bed and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for years!! The curtains half hanging off in some room, the kitchen draws filthy. There was no lids on the rubbish bins so the house was constantly full of cluster flies going on everything The lawns were needing to be mowed. We spent a lot of time cleaning things before we used them Overall the house needs a serious clean and tidy, new mattresses as it was not to a healthy standard to be sleeping in let alone for paying guests!! The last thing was the code we were given on our booking info for the lockbox was wrong! And looking back on feedback for this house other people have complained about the lock box being wrong numerous times and yet bachcare is still giving wrong details to people!!

Rachel “My only issue was I couldn’t get to batch due to roads.”
But the lovely staff sorted it out for me. House was lovely and clean. Beds were comfortable. Great location.
- Rachel, October 2022GARY “Nice spot big house.”
There is a contact number on the door for the house manager for when Bachcare give you the wrong lock box number . I would suggest if you take a boat a 4 wheel drive vehicle would be very helpful to get up the gravel drive.
- GARY, June 2022Maggie “Beautiful place, great location, nice house to stay in.”
Only problem unable to get in to house on arrival due to being given wrong entry code for door.
- Maggie, May 2022Ben and Lisa “An Absolute Beautiful Place to Stay, lots of room for the Family with stunning views!”
- Ben and Lisa, May 2022Jude “This property is in a good location but unfortunately is tired and in need of maintenance to justify the rental charged per night.”
From the photo advertising we were under the impression that we would have beach access from the bottom of the property but this was not the case. Some basic maintenance to upgrade the home to the current healthy living standards and ensure the appliances are fully functional would go a long way. We enjoyed our time but I think that in its current state the property is about 30% overpriced. It does cater for a large group though and there is nice new carpet.
- Jude, April 2022Libby “A great kiwi bach in the sounds, we loved staying here and having easy access to the sounds via boat, car and also in close proximity to wineries.”
Had everything you need for a relaxing week.
- Libby, January 2022Dyanna “Great place to relax in beautiful surroundings.”
- Dyanna, December 2021Grace “Although the house has great views and is in a good spot, several features and events force us to downgrade our review of this holiday rental.”
For the price charged we expected a clean and tidy experience but found the place in a state not befitting the price category. We did not feel comfortable using many of the amenities until we had given them a good clean (including toilet and showers). The barbecue we did not feel comfortable using at all. We were told to leave the place as we found it, perhaps an early sign of too great a reliance on the cleanliness of previous occupiers. We were without any water for half a day due to poor checking of the water filter systems and were given an incorrect code to retrieve the key. A promise to be at the property when we arrived turned into a three quarter of an hour wait outside to get in. Several of the chairs were in dangerously wobbly condition. The owner switched providers between our booking and stay but at least honoured the original price (which was appreciated). Hopefully the owner and the new providers Bachcare will improve their standards and match the significantly higher price they are charging for this property.
- Grace, December 2021Rachel “Beautiful home, the best views, private and clean”
- Rachel, November 2021Tracy “Fantastic location with wonderful views, the fireplace was a bonus as our first night was a little cold.”
Bachcare staff are very helpful and friendly. Thanks Bachcare
- Tracy, November 2021Mark “House has nice location of sitting close to water.”
Open plan living. Can open up many doors for fresh air. Good working shower and hot water. Carpet through out new. Plenty of kitchen utensils.
