Cherie “Love this property for our extended family; Bedrooms are a good size ( with walk in wardrobe in master a perfect size for a portacot ), Comfy beds with lovely pillows and quality linen.”
Big bathrooms and spacious tiled showers and kitchen is well appointed. The lounge is generous size with comfortable furnishings. The yard is great for kids big and small and awesome to find the gate that meant it is a fully fenced property to contain our little lads !! Can park all cars up the driveway beside house too. View is simply spectacular from the lounge and the deck . It’s our second visit and we’ll be back again for sure.

Shandal “Beautiful place to stay we loved our 3 night stay.”
Beds are extremely comfortable, Showers have great pressure, unfortunately they're was no gas in the bbq bottle so our planned dinner was cooked inside. Would love to book in the near future.

- Marilyn, November 2023Rachael “Nicely laid out, comfortable property with a great size kitchen for groups.”

- Rachael, October 2023Kelly “An awesome, well appointed house perfect for a group of friends to stay.”
There was nothing more we could ask for and will definitely be back. Thanks heaps to the owners for letting us stay.
- Kelly, October 2023Marie “I think it us very poor that bachcare take your money from your credit card with no correspondence a month before your stay.”
Most take the money at the time of your stay. House was great, very well facilitated, but cleanliness was a bit average in places. Splash back grubby, tv and cabinet grubby and not dusted. And windows need a clean. Had difficulty getting key in door numerous times. So used card and is great now
- Marie, September 2023Thank you for reviewing your stay, Marie. We appreciate your feedback about the property and its great facilities. Your comments regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of the property will be shared with our local team to improve in future. Our booking service does require payment at time of reservation, however we will investigate the lack of communication in the case of your booking. Bachcare
Nancy “Great location, amazing views.”
Really quick response from the property manager to get few things sorted like missing soap and kettle not cleaned. Very warm and spacious house. Will visit again.
- Nancy, August 2023Jane “Lovely house wish we could have stayed longer”
- Jane, April 2023Belinda “Thank you! We loved the view - spectacular!”
- Belinda, April 2023Karen “Fantastic house with everything we needed, great views across the bay and nice walking around the coast and into town.”
- Karen, February 2023Wendy “A Lovely place to stay after completing the Kaikoura Coastal Walkway.”
The house was so comfortable and spacious, and had everything we needed. Thank you. The only disappointment was that the code Bachcare gave was me was incorrect. After ringing the 0800 help line (which also took 2 lengthy attempts) I was told a different code than the one previously forwarded which successfully opened the lockbox . If this was late at night and pouring with rain - I would be even less pleased. So maybe attention to detail could be improved with Bachcare .
- Wendy, November 2022Cherie “This home is even better than it looks.”
It was sunny, warm and light with a stunning view of the sea and sunsets.. All bedrooms were a good size and the lounge and dining area were very spacious. The kitchen is well equipped which was perfect as we cooked all our meals at the house. All the furniture including the outdoor setting is good quality and the beds were comfortable. An absolute bonus having the use of the paddleboard and kayaks. Thank you to the homeowner, they thought of everything. We’ll definitely be back.
- Cherie, October 2022Ruth “Great place to spend a few days.”

- Wendy, September 2022Ced “Ideal house for a family of 6 adults and one child.”
Really appreciated all the extra bits and pieces and great range of kitchen ware and utensils. Plenty of bedding and a very warm house. Great location.
- Ced, August 2022Karen “This home is gorgeous and worked really well for my family of 7.”
The home has spectacular views in South Bay (beautiful sunset sky) and we were so blessed to have spotted a pod of Orca directly out from the home. I have seen Orca before at Kaikoura in March so it must be a common time for them. The walk over the hilltop to the seal colony is spectacular and a must do. The Pier Hotel has fab views and great food. Donegal House is a great Irish Hotel to visit also with a lovely outdoor lake setting. I would highly recommend a stay at this home.

About the location
Kaikoura is watched over by the majestic mountain ranges that stretch down towards the rugged east coast of the South Island. Kaikoura is most well known for its whale watching opportunities, which attract visitors from across the world. Tours depart Kaikoura to allow visitors the chance to catch glimpses of giant sperm whales, dolphins, fur seals, and the rare royal albatrosses. For those who are more adventurous, there are chances to don a wetsuit and swim with many of the wonderful creatures found on the Kaikoura Coastline. The annual Seafest, held the first weekend in October, is becoming increasingly popular, and attracts more visitors every year. For history buffs, Kaikoura offers the chance to learn about the early whaling and sealing days of the district, as well as Maori History, and a number of historic buildings. There are also a number of walks to explore, one which takes visitors past some spectacular limestone caves, and seal colonies.
