Guenter “Very goox”
- Guenter, April 2024 -
Linda “Absolutely loved our stay.”
The view from the property is beautiful and being able to kayak and paddle board from the section was a highlight. Location was perfect for us being able to launch our boat from Havelick or Picton to explore the amazing scenery from the water. Would definitely stay again, the only issue was the shower barely drained when we arrived and by the end we couldn't use it. Something I'm sure the owners can rectify for the next guests.
- Linda, January 2024Thank you for your feedback on the maintenance that is required at the property. We are discussing this with the property owners and working hard on improvements to ensure this home continues to offer an amazing experience to our guests. Bachcare
Anthony “Stunning location and close to everything we wanted.”
The Mahikipawa arm was very quiet, making it safe and enjoyable for kayaking. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to make meals. We had a wonderful holiday at the property. That said; The key code given in the emails from Bachcare didn't work. Luckily I was able to get in touch with the manager quickly and resolve this. But based on the comments this is not the first time this has happened. The floor felt overdue a mop, looking at our feet after walking around the place. Drinking water has to be boiled, which was not mentioned on the listing. Listing mentioned a Stand up paddle board and life jackets but we could not find these. As we had our own jackets we didn't ask the manager about this though.
- Anthony, December 2023Thank you for providing a review for your recent stay, Anthony. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay here, with this property's awesome location. The access and cleanliness issues have been shared with our teams and will be urgently investigated to improve in future. These are the responsibility of Bachcare and do apologise for how this has affected the experience staying with us. I will also share your comments with the property owner and local team, as the property listing should be as accurate and informative as possible. We look forward to hosting you again. Bachcare
Roy “Dead spiders etc on the floor.”
Could not find out before booking just how far it was from Havelock township - we were looking for something real close. The driveway was difficult to maneuver, especially with the rain. a turnaround area would have been helpful. Backing up or down was not easy.
- Roy, August 2023Thank you for your review Roy. We are sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with the access to the property. We understand that may have put a damper on your stay and would like to assure you we are working on addressing this feedback internally and with the local team. Bachcare
Simon “Great little bach - nothing too fancy, but perfect for a kiwi holiday.”
We enjoyed our stay.
- Simon, March 2023Derek “Fantastic location and lovely house with wonderful deck and walkway down to the sea.”
Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Not so good. Given wrong combination for lock box TWICE from Bachcare - took 3 hours to get into the house (just before 6). The person with their name listed to ring for help was out of range and not replying. We were charged a cleaning fee but the house was a bit dirty (under the beds was a dust forest), and some oher parts of the house needed cleaning. Housei is listed for 4 people - but they only give you 4 spoons, 4 plates, 4 forks, 4 cups and 4 knives - So you have to hand wash after each meal or put the dishwasher on only 1/4 full - which seems a waster of water. Note: Driveway is quite steep with a tight turn.
- Derek, January 2023Thank you for your review, Derek! We're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at Thirsty Weta Belvue. Sorry to hear you experienced issues accessing the property. We have since updated the lockbox details to ensure this issue doesn't happen again. We've also passed your feedback on to our local service team and the property owners about the tableware and cleanliness of the property and have added a note about the driveway. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future! Bachcare
