The property
Pukawa Paradise sits on a north-facing slope with 180-degree views of the Kaimanawa Ranges in the east, Lake Taupo at the front, and the Western Bays from the west. No matter the weather, you will find stunning views from the rooms in the house! Built 30 years ago, this house lovingly is still with the builder's family. It is surrounded by native bush and with pathways throughout. The lower floor has a bedroom and small ensuite. Upstairs, the middle level has a laundry which opens to a covered deck. You will also find a large open-plan kitchen with dining area and a foyer. The master bedroom is off to one side with a bathroom on this level. On the other side of the kitchen & dining is a long lounge with opens to the north onto the deck with lovely lake views. The covered deck connects to the laundry with a tranquil bush aspect. Regardless of the weather, you can enjoy a BBQ! The lounge has cavity sliding doors so can be separated. Kids can watch a movie in the lounge whilst parents socialise in the dining area or on the deck. The upper level is the main entrance from the private road. A path and wooden deck connects you to the front door. A daybed has been placed in the foyer and a foam double floor mattress, ideal for kids! Pukawa Bay is a 10-minute walk down the road or a 2-minute drive to the beach. The black sand beach has a cold-water stream and pontoon in summer. There are also many local walks - Pukawa-Omori through the bush. Oreti Resort is just below the house, and you can visit the bar/restaurant by a 5-minute walk. The closest shop in Omori is a 4-minute drive and has all the basics including food, alcohol, petrol etc. Hanging Rock Vineyard and the Floating Rock Cafe/Vineyard/Pizzeria are in Kuratau, about 7 mins away. Turangi township is just 15 minutes away. Tokaanu Hot Pools and geothermal walk are 10 minutes away. The Hare and Copper Eatery has beautiful food and worth a visit - just out of Turangi heading north on SHW 1, Tongariro Lodge for dinner or drinks is nearby. Trout fishing licences can be bought from Omori Store or Creel Tackle House and Cafe on Taupahi Road. The National Trout Centre is on SHW 1south of Turangi. Further afield are National Park walks, The chateau, Waiouru Military Museum and Taupo township. As much or as little you want to do, this gorgeous holiday home is surrounded by nature, where you can sit back and relax and enjoy the peace, views, and birdsong. Pukawa Paradise awaits your arrival!
