The property

Surrounded by an abundance of native bush, waterfalls and the chorus of birdsong, Kiekie Lodge offers a serene and fun filled place to call home for your next holiday.  With enough space for an extended family getaway or group of friends, this five-bedroom holiday home has plenty of space to get into the holiday spirit. Four outdoor seating areas allow you to catch both the morning and afternoon sunshine; a real treat in this slice of paradise. Before you set out for a day of exploring, start your day in the light and spacious kitchen well set up for whipping up a big breakfast to fuel the troops. On warm sunny evenings, fire up the BBQ grill, pour yourself a glass of your favourite beverage, and dine alfresco while you gaze at the ocean. It doesn’t get much better than this! You’ll love the quirky coastal ornaments, décor, and pops of colour throughout the home. The dedicated bar area will be a favourite for playing darts, or why not just kick back in the living area to watch the Smart TV. There's also a mini library available. When it’s time to discover what this beautiful region has to offer, you’re just a 14-minute drive from the Kaikōura town centre, where you can take a whale watching tour, visit the Kaikōura seal colony, or soak up the sun at Kaikōura Beach.  There is plenty of room to park the boat here at this Goose Bay holiday home. Launch it up at South Bay and set out to find your fresh catch of the day. Then back at home make use of the handy fish-filleting bench.  If you’re feeling peckish, Kaikōura has a fantastic range of bars, restaurants, and eateries to try out. Or if you need to top up on supplies, the closest supermarket is a 17-minute drive away.  Full of colour, character, and easy holiday living, spend your next trip away here at Kiekie Lodge!

As the property has unfenced access to the State Highway 1 and train tracks, adults are encouraged to closely supervise young children while outside.

As there is an unfenced stream in the back garden, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water.

Please note that the top bunk bed is not suitable for adults.

Please note a bond may be charged at certain times of the year. One of our team members will contact you if this is required for your booking.

About the location

Kaikoura is watched over by the majestic mountain ranges that stretch down towards the rugged east coast of the South Island. Kaikoura is most well known for its whale watching opportunities, which attract visitors from across the world. Tours depart Kaikoura to allow visitors the chance to catch glimpses of giant sperm whales, dolphins, fur seals, and the rare royal albatrosses. For those who are more adventurous, there are chances to don a wetsuit and swim with many of the wonderful creatures found on the Kaikoura Coastline. The annual Seafest, held the first weekend in October, is becoming increasingly popular, and attracts more visitors every year. For history buffs, Kaikoura offers the chance to learn about the early whaling and sealing days of the district, as well as Maori History, and a number of historic buildings. There are also a number of walks to explore, one which takes visitors past some spectacular limestone caves, and seal colonies.
