Carmen “This was a lovely house for a family of four on holiday to stay in.”
It had plenty of space, a great layout and was in a very peaceful location. Overall the house was very well maintained, but some of the smaller items I expected to be provided were missing. Only one of four handwash containers had any handwash, there were very limited toilet rolls, limited dishwasher and laundry powder and no shower gel. Many of the plates and bowls in the kitchen were also badly chipped/broken. Improving these smaller items would have made us feel a bit more welcomed in the ...

- Carmen, October 2024Thank you for you feedback We have taken on board the lack of sanities. Will have those restocked immediately. I’ve not noticed the dinnerware being chipped, will look into that on my next visit Thanks Bachcare

Stephen “I would consider WiFi to be a must in todays world.”
We brought a lot a bar-be-que food but would not us it a it was filthy and looked as if it had not been cleaned for months. With rubbish collection during our stay beeping majorly changed due to public holidays, a note of collection days would have been handy. Having booked for 8 adults, the seating for four in the lounge made things difficult and uncomfortable during the couple of wet days. Wouldn’t rebook unless these suggestions were addressed and overall I think that nearly 5k for a week is steep.
- Stephen, December 2023Thank you for your feedback, Stephen. We're sorry to hear you found some of the amenities not up to standard for your stay. The BBQ gets checked and cleaned at the property after every guest stay to ensure it's clean and ready to use for the next guests. The property now has wifi added for guests to use. We have passed your feedback on about the furniture to the property owners for consideration. Bachcare
Tina “We had such a great stay, it is a lovely home and property.”
We loved that you offered a load of firewood for the fireplace but we couldn't find any kindling or newspaper to get it going, we ended up using cardboard rubbish of ours which didn't work very well. We loved the use of the kayaks, thank you and that was the main reason we picked your place. Although the garage was made up as bedroom, the smell coming from the garage (maybe a fridge/freezer?) was so terribly strong, we couldn't sleep in there. We actually had to squeeze the children into one room in the house. Despite that garage issue, we would definitely like to stay again. Thank you for hosting us.

The house itself and the section is fantastic The only real problem was the garage “sleepout” We couldn’t use it The deodoriser that was put through it was overpowering and gave a headache after 5 min in the room I think this was because of the smelly bait freezer in there We altered our sleeping arrangements to suit
- Garth, September 2023Andrew “Beautiful home in a great location.”
Would definitely stay again.
- Andrew, July 2023Mike “No suitable heating provided.”
Fireplace but no firewood to use.
- Mike, May 2023Thanks for taking the time to review your stay. We are saddened to hear of this feedback and will ask our Property Manager to check on this one ASAP. Thanks again Bachcare
Fiona “Lovely family time and property.”
Disappointing that tv was poor colour given that the feedback from some months ago said the same thing. Great that we could take our dog!
- Fiona, January 2023Mikayla “Wonderful home with plenty of space and comfy beds.”
However there is an ant problem over the entire house. A trolly to get the kayaks and paddleboards to the beach would be very handy if guests don't have a roof rack on their cars too. Overall very comfortable stay, would come back again.
- Mikayla, January 2023Thanks for taking the time to review your stay. Ants are a pesky nuisance at this time of year and are notorious for beachy environments. We do our very best to ensure they stay away but often this can't always be guaranteed. Thanks again! Bachcare
Brett “Stayed here for the second time this year, our three generation family and dog had a lovely break.”
Highly recommended.
- Brett, November 2022A “It is a stunning house in a great spot - a quiet cul de sac a few minutes walk from the beach.”
And it was SO nice that our fur baby was as welcome as we were. Although the listing says it isn't, we found it to be fully fenced and quite safe for our dog to have free run of the garden. It could use a few of the more basic necessities like a bedside table in the second room, and bedside lamps in both - it wasn't good for my 70 year old Mum to be walking round a strange house, in the dark. More than one bath towel per person would have been nice and in the kitchen a wooden spoon lol The TV unfortunately is unwatchable because of a strange blue hue. Which under usual circumstances isn't a problem, but we had a bit of a wet week and it would have been nice to have been able to waste an arvo watching a film. And be aware there is no WIFI here. The listing does state that but I didn't think to check, I assumed a modern house such as it is would have WIFI. It was a lovely house though and we very much enjoyed our stay, thank you :)
- A, November 2022Lenva “Hi. A lovely home - just a couple of ideas for you to consider.”
The fan in Ensuite is falling off the ceiling - needs repair. The house outside needs a complete wash owing to all the cobwebs clearly visible from inside. We had to dump the old fish remains from the last lot of people before we could use the freezer in garage. House is very well equipped. Otherwise we loved staying there and probably will stay again sometime.
- Lenva, October 2022Sharon “It would have been nice to have a dining table inside.”
Although we did move the outdoor table inside on the mat and that was fine. Due to the floors being concrete like, the noise does travel around the house. As there is a gab between the door and the floor its a difficult to keep the noise confined to the lounge only if you want to goto bed. Just maybe a few long door breeze stoppers might be nice to block out the noise If that makes sense. Unfortunately we were told that sheets and towels were included, but on arrival there were none. So I had to arrange for property manager to drop these off to us. At extra charge to us. Bit disappointing. I would suggest just including linen in your price. There was also no iron and ironing board as per your listing. So your property manager kindly supplied these to us. Which we do appreciate as we were off to a wedding. We had a lovely stay and location was great. Thank you.
- Sharon, October 2022Joanne “We had a very comfortable stay at this modern bach.”
Very quiet and peaceful with a lovely rural outlook at the back or the property. The house had everything we needed for a family. The teen loved sleeping in the garage (sleepout) but may not have been suitable for younger children. Felt very spacious throughout. An indoor dining table would have been nice as the weather wasn't great but we were happy to sit at the breakfast bar. For it to be perfect, bedside tables and lamps and a pod coffee machine would have been a bonus. All in all, a great holiday house.
- Joanne, October 2022Ngok “Lovely stay in a beautiful place.”
Had all you needed gor cooking. Quiet area and quick drive into town. Would stay again.
- Ngok, July 2022Stephanie “Another great stay thank you.”
- Stephanie, June 2022Brett “We had a lovely five day family holiday at 44 Alf Simpson Drive, Whitianga.”
Beds were comfortable, great facilities, and plentiful kitchen equipment. Would recommend this property and we would happily return. Brett and Chris, Tuakau.

Great property house is big and comfortable and huge bonus to be able to take our dog, the kitchen is amazing to cook in has everything you need, super clean we will definitely be booking again
- Georgina, February 2022Michael “Great modern house with nice clean decor.”
Nothing fancy but well set up with everything you’ll need, nice outlook over farmlands and bush out the back. Can recommend.
- Michael, January 2021Graeme “A lovely Bach to kick back in.”
- Graeme, December 2020Sarah “Great location, and property - we really enjoyed our stay!”
Especially being able to take our dog along! She loved it!
- Sarah, November 2020Kylie “Rent this house now!”
Situated in a quiet street with a view out to farmland, it is a peaceful sun trap. The house is beautiful, spacious enough for six people to be able to easily rest and unwind without feeling cramped. The garden is great for kids and dogs alike. The best attribute about this holiday home is the way it is stocked - plenty of good quality glasses, cutlery, pots and pans, toasted sandwich maker, baking equipment, sharp knives. You name it, it was there! It's also walking distance to the beach, 5 minutes drive into town. Just wonderful.
- Kylie, October 2020Mary “Spacious and modern.”
This home has so much space and the bathrooms were the highlight of this house. There is however room for improvement with minor issues such as cleanliness. If you’re not use to pets, the smell there was quite strong. On another note, this place is suitable for big families and the neighbourhood is safe.
- Mary, September 2020Thank you for your review Mary! We're are happy you enjoyed your stay with us. We appreciate your feedback and we're sorry your experience with our cleaning did not meet our usual high standards. Bachcare
