“The property is in a great location and for the most part we were very happy.”

Little things like the hand soap container being empty was disappointing but not a show stopper but the upstairs apartment being rented with the door that separates the two units being unlocked was very unnerving at night and a little disconcerting when leaving the unit during the day. Great location with a wonderful view. Bit tricky to find in the dark but that was due to our plane being delayed :). We'd stay there again. Pricey, but anywhere nice in Q'town is similar. Previous person who stayed just before we did, in Sept 2022, made comment about the stairway leading to the upstairs apartment. It would be nice if the listing mentioned it, as it would be nice to be reassured the property is secure while you're staying, assuming it is of course. Interesting while we were there there was no sign of anyone occupying the upstairs - no lights at night and two windows slightly open all the time. However during the nights there WAS someone there as they occasionally dropped things on the floor and we could hear through the ceiling. Either that or very big possums having a party on the roof. Overall a great place and we liked staying there. Darrell

“On arrival, my husband and I were disappointed to see that between our lounge and bedroom, there was an internal staircase leading to the upstairs apartment, with only a baby gate across it.”

We could see that there was a door at the top, which clearly provided access to the upstairs apartment. What was unclear however, was how our privacy and security would be maintained when there was an internal access in our apartment. This was not explained at all in the property description, nor was there a note explaining the situation anywhere in our property. Our first night was a restless one. We did not feel comfortable or safe in the apartment knowing that the occupants upstairs could come downstairs at any time (and not being provided with any information to the contrary. I did call Bachcare, but it was afterhours). The next morning, when we knew the upstairs occupants had left, I ended up checking to see if the door at the top of the stairs was locked. It was. This enabled us to feel more secure for the remainder of our stay, but the uneasiness could have been avoided altogether with a more accurate property description and an explanation in the property perhaps fixed to the wall at the bottom of the stairs.
