Shawn “Great little place”
- Shawn, July 2024 -
Andeliza “We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it's a lovely place and plan on booking again next year.”
The only thing we can really point as Not Good was the Gas BBQ outside, which we had to clean first before we could use it to bbq the meat. Please pay more attention to that.
- Andeliza, July 2023Kate “The ‘family retreat’ house was fabulous for our family holiday to Mt Ruapehu.”
It is a new home with excellent insulation and heating, we were very cosy. The layout is great and we all slept well in comfortable beds/linens. It is in a great location and only a 1 minute bike ride over to the carrot park for the kids, which they loved. Although the kitchen had plenty of crockery and utensils, we felt it could be better equipped with cooking equipment. There is one small frying pan, which was not adequate to prepare bacon and eggs for four adults and three children. While there we ran out of pepper, tin foil, rubbish bin liners & toilet paper. However Bachcare did promptly deliver more toilet paper, it would have been great of these basics were provisioned for the length of our stay. The spa pool was fun and provided great entertainment while the mountain was closed. It had some soap scum in it when we arrived but the Bachcare spa technician promptly came and worked to resolve these issues. Leaving chlorine out for guests is key for a shared pool like this. Bachcare staff were prompt and friendly to communicate with about the small issues we had. The write up for this house does list Freeview TV, but this is no longer provided. However Google chrome cast was useful to stream from our subscription services. Some information for guests regarding the TV in the house info pack would be useful. All and all a really excellent house and place to base the whanau for a ski trip…
- Kate, August 2022We are so pleased that you enjoyed this great property with all its wonderful amenities. We will adhere to your suggestions - thank you. Bachcare
Samantha “You have a beautiful property, so well layed out, perfect for families.”
adored the grey couch, if i couldve fit it into the back of my car, i would have. the boys loved the spa pool outside, the bunk beds and most importantly the tradition of screaming "theres big carrot and baby carrot" as we drove only meters down the road, past the enourmoud kids play ground which can only be described as 'kid heaven", on our way to our daily snow adventures. upon arrival, we noticed that the curtains on the far window in the ensuite bedroom were dismantled and off the wall. we did end up putting them back up with the help of amatuer handman skills but our stay was so pleasant that this did not have much of an effect on us at all. Would definitely come back and recommend to a friend.

As there is a section of the deck without a barrier with a small drop to the ground, all guests should take care when using this area due to the risk of falls.
