“We loved the ever changing view of the sea and the easy access to the beach.”

Bach is very well set-up, tidy & uncluttered. We found everything we needed and there were plenty of crockery etc & all in good condition. Deck is fantastic with all day sun. Great location and would stay again.

The property

Imagine waking up to the sound of crashing waves and heading out to the sun-soaked deck to enjoy a gorgeous, beachfront position. Located in the breathtaking Pākawau, you’ll love calling this retro beauty home for your next summer stay. Welcome to Godwit Cottage! Enjoy endless ocean views thanks to the large picture windows and French doors. On a balmy summer's day, open these up to let the gentle seaside breeze float through your new abode, while the kids and your four legged furry friends play in the back, grassy lawn with a sun-soaked deck. Well-restored wooden finishes and touches of rustic flair pay homage to the retro feel of this 1970s bungalow, which is set up for the ideal Kiwi family holiday. Put your feet up in the cosy living area, where a wood-burning fireplace provides a toasty ambience during a winter stay. When you’re not soaking up the sun, get into the competitive spirit with one of the many board games on hand, sink into a good book, enjoy puzzling or flick on the Smart TV with Freeview. There’s something for everyone here! Godwit Cottage sleeps up to nine guests comfortably across three generous bedrooms and a sleepout, with a bathroom and full laundry facilities completing the set-up for your stay. Besides this Pākawau accommodation being right on the beach, you’re just a minute’s drive down the road from local fare, The Old School Café and the local gas station, NPD, if you’re needing to top up on supplies. If you’re keen to check out one of New Zealand’s wonders, Farewell Spit and the Puponga Farm Park are only 16-minutes from Godwit Cottage, where you can explore the stunning sights, various walking tracks and other activities on offer.   Beachfront living is at its finest here, Godwit Cottage awaits!

There are two kayaks available, with life jackets.

As the property has unfenced access to the beach from the backyard, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water.

Please note, while this property is not fully fenced there is a completely enclosed front yard and deck for children and pets to play in safely.

Please note there is a security camera at this property, placed in the outdoor areas for added security during your stay.
