Richard “The photo and description on the website was a misrepresentation of the actual property - we were very surprised to find the living, kitchen and bedroom spaces were significantly smaller than what we were expecting.”
There was limited space for suitcases/moving around which was compounded by the excessive decorative potted plants. The description when we booked, also did not indicate that the third bedroom was a sleepout, seperate to the house. It appears this description on the website was amended after our booking. The description also misrepresented the outlook of the property which we were surprised to find sits on a swamp. This appears to be the cause of the overwhelming damp musty smell that hit us on ...
This appears to be the cause of the overwhelming damp musty smell that hit us on arrival and was present throughout our stay. We counted an excessive 12 defuses scattered throughout the bedrooms and living areas to try and defuse the damp smell, however only added to the overwhelming heavyness in the air. The defuses are an acknowledgement of an issue present on the property, I therefore believe, it warrants pre-warming guests prior to booking. The range hood flew off when turned on which struck the person standing at the stove, luckily she held her hand up to catch it before hitting her head. This was incredibly dangerous as it was not screwed to the wall. The dishwashing wasn't working and the gas heaters outside were also not working. On the plus side, the spa was fantastic. The bathroom was very good, lovely tiles and mirror. The extractor in the bathroom however wasn't effective and the walls were dripping with moisture after showers. The beds and lounge were comfortable and the colour scheme really nicely done. I think full transparency would prevent disappointment and mitigate any suprpises and negative feedback. Clear the clutter, minimise the decorative pots to allow more space and check to make sure appliances are fitted safely and operational.
Hi Richard, Firstly, I would like to thank you for the feedback that you have left, we appreciate any and all comments to help us improve our service and ensure a great experience for future guests. We do agree that the spa is fantastic, and that the bathroom, lounge and decor/furniture is nicely done and maximises comfort. We feel that the photos are an accurate representation of the space provided at the property as it is clearly a compact property, as well as the external photos that show the property is indeed surrounded by trees and birdlife, as mentioned in our description. While the creek that runs near/through the property is not present in the description, the property is not built on a swamp as was outlined in your feedback. We have sent our local property manager to assess the situation regarding any space that can be added to the property by arranging the plants and furniture more effectively, as well as fixing the issues your pointed out with a couple of the appliances. Lastly, you will be happy to know that the description has been amended to more accurately reflect the sleepout which is present in the photos. Once again, we are happy that you found the spa, decor and furniture to be great, and hope you join us again for an improved stay Bachcare
