“This was a good place to stay a bit on the expensive side however that's Whangamata for yah and it is small but that didn't bother us too much.”

The only downfall we had was the mouldy musky smell of the place which did not go away at all even with everything open all weekend which made it a bit unpleasant to sleep in and all the mould all over the curtains other then that everything else was as stated and overall we did enjoy our weekend!

“A real Kiwi Bach that we loved staying at.”

The location and short walk to the beach is unbeatable. Although small the Bach was super easy, comfortable and accomodating. We would love to stay here again.

“Pretty disappointed with this accommodation, was not as clean as we would normally expect in this price bracket, normally you get what you pay for, however this time we believe the per night rate is not represented, should be in the more economical pricing listings.”

Bathroom window needs repair, fresh mice poo on kitchen bench and fridge overnight, very limited cooking utensils, screaming noisy neighbours, wont be back. Good location to beach and great for dogs.

“The accommodation was clean and tidy and had everything I needed for a couple of nights.”

I didn't cook anything during my stay. I stayed on my own and it was perfect for me. It did have bunk beds in the sleep out. I think if they were fully occupied the one small bathroom and small living area would be an issue, especially in bad weather. The property was well off the street and was very quiet during my stay. It is a short walk to the beach but a reasonable distance to the shops and restaurants. I didn't end up bringing my dog as planned but the section is well fenced .

Tucked away on a flat, fully fenced back section and boasting great indoor-outdoor flow to the covered patio, this Whangamata accommodation offers the kind of summer living you remember from the good ol’ days. Cosy and bright, the open-plan living space at Walk to the Water offers a comfy corner for winding down in front of the TV, and a modern, well-equipped kitchen for whipping up the sides to go with your favourites hot off the BBQ grill. Lay out a spread of holiday snacks on the outdoor table and pour yourself a cold one in preparation for a serious game of backyard cricket! Cool off with a quick nip to the beach for a swim, then pull up a bean bag on the lawn and chill. You’re on holiday now! Three bedrooms, one in the main house and two in the detached sleepout, comfortably sleep up to six guests here. This really is the perfect setup for a family with older kids; the sleepout complete with its own deck being the ideal haven for kids to make their own. When it’s time to grab some takeaways, an ice-cream, or to top up on supplies, the Whangamata town centre is only three minutes’ drive from your home away from home. If you just fancy your morning coffee fix, wander up to Blackies Café at the surf club. Go on, grab a cake as well! It’s all in the name at this great summer spot, so what are you waiting for? Please be aware the sleepout at this property is accessed externally and the bathroom is inside the main dwelling.

The sleepouts are suitable for teenagers/children as it contains bunk beds and the top bunk is only suitable for a childs weight.

This property offers 2 toilets and one shower so large families will need to be mindful of this. There is an outdoor cold shower also available
