Kelly “This was the second time that we rented Linton's Sunshine Retreat and it did not disappoint.”
A lovely well appointed bach, in a great location. Love the two showers and toilets - very handy with kids. Beds are lovely and comfortable.

Michelle “Loved this holiday home right out of the 70’s was exactly as advertised .”
brought back childhood memories of beach holidays . Small quirks with the hot water and oven switch but worked fine once we got the idea of how it worked . Great place for relaxing after a day at the beach
- Michelle, January 2024Caroline “A really nice balance of older bach feeling, but a good solid building with comfortable beds, seating and dining table, well equipped kitchen once you find the mystery hall cupboard.”
We had some supremely wet and very windy days and 5 of us managed to coexist happily inside until the sun came out again. One shower/toilet is just outside, off the laundry, which suited us, but might feel odd for some people. Some outside furniture, and a shadesail on one side. Nice-looking BBQ, which we didn't use. Good location 5 minutes walk from the estuary with lovely picnic spots and about 10 minutes to the eastern beach (further to the surf beach). A drive or fairly long walk into town, but Estuary Store is handy. Very good value, we would go again.
- Caroline, January 2023Gillian “We booked for 6 adults, and I overlooked that the Single beds were actually going to be too small for my 2 tall young lads.”
haha.. my bad! that's my only issue. otherwise, the property is comfortable.
- Gillian, January 2023Stephanie “The true nz bach experience - it was an amazing place to stay.”
We felt so comfortable, and cosy with a great little set up. It's so retro, it's cool! Nothing is really modern but I think that's also why you'd want to go there, for something really unique and simple. It however has all that you need including wifi and a tv. Truly a magical place. I am already planning our next stay!
- Stephanie, November 2022Ali “The property was clean and close to the beach.”
It’s suitable for only 4 ppl as it has only one toilet and bathroom. The kitchen and especially the oven is not that big to cook for more than 4 ppl, as well. During the winter the house is cold but with the provided heater you will be fine.
- Ali, April 2022Thanks for taking the time to review your stay at Linton's Sunshine Retreat. So great to hear you enjoyed this lovely clean property! There is an additional toilet and shower in the laundry room and you will find an awesome BBQ outside, should you choose not to make use of the retro oven. Thanks again! Bachcare
Deb “Great location.”
A traditional retro bach that is welcoming and a reminder of our childhood beach holidays

Loved the 70s furniture, bar, simplicity and feel of this home. Thank-you, totally recommend it. Lots of parking and appreciated the fans in the house.

Great facilities!
- Boyd, December 2020Sandra “An older home with great access to the beach and a well equipped kitchen.”
The BBQ is new and very easy to use-a nice addition. The extra shower, and laundry room was great. Beds were comfortable, great space for a family weekend. Everything is a little dated as seen in the pictures but that did not affect our visit.
