Robin “Upgrade of existing bunks beds would be good.”
Extremely uncomfortable & low budget. Otherwise lovely and very central.

Kay “We loved our stay at the cottage, very handy to town and very comfortable.”
There was only 2 couples so we definitely had our own space and bathrooms which was nice. Only one thing I could fault was the missing blind in the bedroom on the door but as there were others i guessed it may have been away for repair. Would love to stay again. Thanks
- Kay, May 2023Jade “The team said they really enjoyed staying at your cottage.”
One of the rooms were quite cold though so that was the only complaint. We will definitely look at staying here in future.
- Jade, April 2023Karen “Beautiful, very clean cottage in a great location.”
Beds were very comfortable. It was a very hot weekend so the garage got very hot and couldn't open main garage door to cool down. Fan was also broken.
- Karen, February 2023Anthony “Great property and location.”
Had everything required for an enjoyable stay.
- Anthony, November 2022Kaye “This is a really cute, wonderful home to stay in.”
It has everything you need, is clean snd modern , and well located . Highly recommended
- Kaye, September 2022Ellie “Great location, and a comfortable cottage to stay in with good size kitchen.”
Nice place to base ourselves while exploring the area.
- Ellie, July 2022Kelly “Awesome accommodation and in walking distance to the main square.”
- Kelly, July 2022Michelle “Excellent location and was exactly what we were after.”
We hired linen and were provided 1 towel each for 3 days, would have been ideal to have heated towel rails or more towels given time of year. The cottage was really cold and took some time to warm when we arrived on a chilly night. Would have been ideal to have heating turned on beforehand.
- Michelle, June 2022Hannah “This listing is misleading and I hope Bachcare takes this feedback onboard as if you read the other feedback we are not the first to mention this.”
It is NOT four bedrooms. We were not happy to find that the ‘sleepout’ is actually an uninsulated garage and not suitable for a winter stay. We ended up doubling up and sharing beds in the main house, which wasn't ideal. Overall the accommodation is showing wear and tear and needs a deep clean - there were dead cockroaches under the couch. Also chipped dishes and glasses and the chopping board was growing green mould. The front bedroom is missing a blind so you get woken by the sunrise and lacks privacy. We couldn't watch TV as you can't cast to it because it's so old, and the Sky box doesn't work. We couldn't listen to music because the stereo is so old and doesn't have bluetooth. Bring CDs or cassette tapes if you want sounds. The lighting in the main room is dull and there are blown bulbs in the lamps. It's feeling neglected, perhaps because it was on the market for sale recently?
- Hannah, June 2022Thank you for your review, Hannah! We're sorry to hear you weren't entirely satisfied with your stay at Te Kawa Cottage. We do advise on the listing that one of the spaces listed as bedrooms is a garage, but we'll make this clearer on the listing to avoid any confusion; thank you for the feedback on that. We'll work with the property owners and local team on the kitchen utensils, cleaning, SKY box and lighting. We do not advertise a sound system on our listing as an available amenity but appreciate the feedback on that as well. Bachcare
Stacey “Lovely, tidy place which had everything we needed.”
Close to shops and felt comfortable. Would stay here again!
- Stacey, June 2022Emily “Easy check in, a lovely house in a fantastic location.”
- Emily, April 2022Nina “Great location.”
Cosy little spot, but living area very small. Note that the bunk room is in a single garage.
- Nina, April 2022Caroline “Fantastic location close to town!”
! Lovely space and back yard area for afew g n t’s before dinner
- Caroline, April 2022Alick “The property is in an ideal location, with ample parking and plenty of outdoor space.”
It is well set up for your stay and the property was very clean. I would just note that the sleepout is actually in the garage - which isn’t clear from the listing. We had to move some of the heaters from other rooms into the garage to ensure it was warm enough. In summer months this wouldn’t be an issue at all though. Thanks for a great stay!
- Alick, March 2022Sarah-Jane “A beautiful house to stay in for our family holiday.”
Especially appreciated that the place was very clean and well stocked with towels, bedding hand soaps, cleaning equipment, etc, as well as outdoor furniture and umbrella. Excellent location, easy walk to town/shops/takeaways

- John, May 2021Robin “Great location, close to town.”
Quiet neighbourhood. House has good lay out
- Robin, March 2021Karen “Lovely little cottage in a fantastic location with an easy walk to the square.”
Off-street parking and a private backyard. Well-provisioned kitchen & was clean throughout. Good shower pressure & comfortable beds. The “sleep-out” is an attached single garage space with no opening windows that became quite hot inside during our summer stay.
- Karen, January 2021Thank you for your review, Karen! We're delighted to hear you had a lovely time! Thank you for your comments about the sleepout; we'll work on them with the property owners. Bachcare

The kitchen is very well kitted out. A comfortable and warm place with a gorgeous garden and laden fruit trees. On street and off street parking in a quiet neighbourhood. Would highly recommend but cleaning fee is steep!
