Great set up for a whānau gathering - a separate space with a Playstation for the kids to hang, lovely big lounge/dining area and well-stocked kitchen. The house was well-equipped with everything we needed. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

Very dusty wasn’t good for us who have chronic allergies. The shower traps need to be cleaned as they are smelly. The access to the air con is great, as well as the kitchen facilities. ( minus the oven which we didn’t have access to but is now fixed ) It would be good to have an umbrella or a sun shade etc on the deck as it is very hot and no shelter from the rain when using bbq which was difficult as we had no access to the oven. Beds are very comfy, and there was enough pillows provided. Would be good to have a booklet with instructions, like changing gas bottles over etc. We didn’t get a booklet till the day before we left. Is there a washing line? One clothes horse isn’t enough for a family of 7. Wifi and sky was an added bonus as we had a few wet days. Communication with the letting agent was good. We have stayed at a few places around Ohope with access to the beach like this one and while this is modern it is on the smaller side and is a little over priced.

Haydi “The property was as expected as per the website so we weren't disappointed.”
It was fantastic staying at a house situated right across the road from the beach with beautiful 180 degree views of the ocean. The interior was beautifully renovated with modern decor and a great layout for a family with kids, or more than 1 couple as it has separate living areas. The open plan kitchen, dining, lounge and deck was excellent for entertaining and the bathrooms were lovely and modern. It was great to have an outdoor shower on the driveway to wash sandy feet. It would've been great to have a small front/back grassed area for games, but being a townhouse the land area was limited. On arrival we were disappointed to find the cleaning was not up to standard for the price we paid. The kitchen splashback was still dirty, the kitchen cupboards had drip marks on them, the inside of the pantry needed wiping and the loose ice hadn't been removed from the freezer drawers. During our stay the sink waste master broke down, but fortunately there was a plumber in our household who was able to fix the problem. Unfortunately, we were advised prior to arrival that the fairly new oven was not going to be working during our stay and wasn't able to be fixed before we arrived. We were able to work around this, however we'd expect this key appliance to be working for the amount paid for the property. After chasing Bachcare several times we finally got a 20% refund approved by the owner which was promptly refunded to my account. This was an excellent outcome. Regarding Bachcare's customer service, when I initially booked the property I was very disappointed with how difficult it was to get any response from Bachcare regarding a linen refund request. No one was answering the phones or responding to my emails. However, the linen refund finally got sorted a month or two later. Closer to our arrival date the communication from Bachcare had improved as they advised us in advance about the oven not working. I had specifically asked a few people at Bachcare, that I'd spoken to on the phone, to call or email me once they had a response from the owner about the oven refund, but no one got back to me and it was only when I called to follow up about this for the 3rd or 4th time, did I find out that it had been sorted out. On the whole the communication and customer service from Bachcare was disappointing and I wouldn't want to go through them again. Also, there was no guest information book at the property, which would've been really helpful. This could include the WIFI password (which I got from the property manager), how to use the TV remotes, the gas supply to the bbq (instead of a gas bottle), amenities at the property, recommended things to do in the area and what is expected to be done when leaving the property. Either the property manager/owner could provide this booklet for guests or Bachcare could email this information to all guests prior to arrival.

Amazing views. Lovely and spacious for 4 couples. Well equipped apart from the puzzling absence of dinner plates. We bought some at the op shop and left the there. And it would be good to make the wifi password available. Would highly recommend.

Hair all over the toilet floor and in the bathrooms. Weren’t enough plates for the number of people staying. No toilet paper on arrival. Great location. Beautiful home. Unfortunately not as great as our previous stay here 12 months ago.

Deceptively large too (could easily accommodate two families). Million dollar view. Easy access to the beach with a quirky outdoor shower. Limited off-street parking (two cars max).

Especially the house needs to be deep clean. Dirty kitchen, a lots of hair o the toilet ground and bedsheets. BBQ oven is muck cannot use. Not recommend all of you are looking for a clean house for your kids to stay. Also bad communication from the bachcare team, a lying charge after we complained about no enough sheets and dirty environment. They said normally only clean house once by half a year….

I love that we could watch the kids swimming at the beach from the comfort of the deck. Nice modern roomy house. It says wifi but we couldn't find a password or details. Theres a smart t.v so we were fine just to use netflix but the wifi would have been nice.

Unfortunately it was let down by the state of uncleanliness when we arrived. Windows has handprints all over them (including the main ranch slider). The barbecue hadn’t been cleaned properly. The drawers were not cleaned - there was human hair in the vanity drawers in the bathroom. The fridge had not been cleaned out or wiped down. Apart from that it was great!

10/10 would recommend. Clean, modern, everything you need and nothing you don’t. Direct access to the country’s most beautiful beach. Amazing neighbours. Great cafés and eateries around. If I could have stayed longer I would have. Can’t wait to rebook!!

The house itself was lovely and new. The Manager for the property was very accommodating with our requests and looked after us really well. The layout is ideal for 2 families/2 groups. The downstairs has its own lounge and 2 bedrooms and bathroom. Upstairs 2 more double rooms and lounge and bathroom plus main kitchen. The upstairs deck I had a fantastic view. We appreciated having good beds and new linen. Thought the bunk bed layout was great for kids. A really nice modern house with a well equipped kitchen.
