Kara “So handy! Clean and tidy and epic to be able to have the dogs with us.”
Would suggest a heater downstairs as it was a bit nippy. My partner couldn’t stand up straight downstairs because of the low ceiling height but it would not preclude us from returning to stay again. Would be good to have WIFI so we could go during the week and work from there. And also just in general. But lovely times were had and we would recommend.

Ishtar “Gorgeous space for a weekend getaway.”
So very peaceful and a kererū sat right beside us as we ate breakfast! Very thoughtfully designed! Thank you for having us!
- Ishtar, June 2024Debbie “Great bach but just too many cobwebs and spiders.”
Would of been great to have it sprayef
- Debbie, December 2022Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the bach and thank you for letting us know. We have since been through the property and evicted the unwelcome spiders that have seemed to have moved in from the local bush! Thanks again. Bachcare
Viv “There were so many cobwebs and spiders, in every room.”
How the cleaners did not see this is puzzling. The bedroom was dark and musty with dead bugs, and dust on the window sills. The kitchen was well equiped apart from wine glasses. One flute and two mismatched wine glasses is not ideal for a couple on a mini break. My first booking with bachcare, so a bit disappointed to be honest.
- Viv, November 2022Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. This is certainly not the experience we wish our guests to have. We are working with the local team on this. We hope to host you again in the future. Bachcare
Leigh “Great place to stay.”
Easy walk to the beach and a wonderful laid back bach vibe. We loved that we could have our dogs with us and feel relaxed. Thanks.
- Leigh, July 2022Michael “There’s a definite charm and privacy to the place.”
Care has been taken to present the bach in the best way possible. It’s just the steps downstairs made me wish I was the size of a hobbit. As such I only went there to use the bathroom. The deck is great.
- Michael, July 2022Stacia “Lovely little place.”
We really enjoyed it. Thanks
- Stacia, June 2022Kim “Super tidy, super comfortable bach with everything you need.”
Location is perfect for easy missions to beautiful beaches, great walks and eateries. We'll definitely stay again!
- Kim, April 2022Nicholas “Lovely traditional bach with character and fabulous views across Piha.”
The property is in walking distance of the beach, RSA and the Domain and is ideal for a couple with a child. Would definitely stay there again.
- Nicholas, January 2021Roz “Just returned from a lovely 3 night stay.”
This home was just perfect, great location, super cosy and lots of essentials already there. I'd seen the comments about the stairs but to me they're what you expect from a Bach - steep but short and not intimidating .. the dogs managed them no problem :)
- Roz, January 2021Noah “This lovely little house in Piha was quiet, cozy, warm, and just what we needed for a weekend away.”
Access to the house was easy, and everything was as advertised. Thank you for a lovely stay.
- Noah, August 2020Kim “Nice little place, great location but steep stairs down to bathroom”
- Kim, March 2020Jo “Great little Bach x love that it is pet friendly ❤️”
- Jo, February 2020Jaime “Private, traditional kiwi bach in a beautiful location.”
Its an easy walk to the cafe and store, the view is very scenic with the forested ridge line and peaks of ocean from the deck. Lots of native wildlife and the local community has a great relaxed 'island time' feel about it.
- Jaime, November 2019Kayla “Great stay!”
The view and balcony is amazing and we loved being able to have breakfast accompanied by native birds in the trees. The staircase is a bit intimidating, especially with a 5 month old, but totally fine in the end. Thanks for a wonderful time.
- Kayla, October 2019Thank you for your lovely comments Kayla! Yes, we like to warn our guests of the narrow, steep stairs on the listing just so everyone's aware, but we're glad to hear this didn't put a damper on an amazing stay! Hope to see you again soon! Bachcare
Elizabeth “Lovely spot, fab sun, and cosy.”
Very nicely presented.
- Elizabeth, July 2019Hartley “Great bach stay - lovely house.”
- Hartley, June 2019Ji-yeon “The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.”
We loved the wonderful seaview and easy access to the beach. I'd like to mention that the stairs are fairly steep.
- Ji-yeon, June 2019Hi Ji-yeon! Thank you for your feedback and it's so nice to hear you had a lovely stay! Yes, you're right! The stairs are rather steep as we like to advise guests on the listing so that care is taken when used. We hope to see you guys again in the future! Bachcare
