Tony “The tv was in Japanese or Chinese language.”
Might be handy to have sorted. It was not a problem for us as we didn't really watch it.

Brian “Only hiccup was the main water pipe breaking out on the roadside - no morning showers.”
However, all repaired by the afternoon, excellent service by the local council. A very convenient place to stay.
- Brian, January 2024Lyn “We all loved our holiday and the house was perfect for the 9 of us.”
We enjoyed the short walk to the shops and waterfront. The house was very well equipped and had everything we needed. The information folder had been wet and parts of it were unreadable and we couldn't find the recycling bin. We would recommend this property for a family group.
- Lyn, September 2023Desmon “Beautiful house very spacious very cheap for what we got definitely book again when we up next time”
- Desmon, April 2023Kat “The house is nice in that it has been modernised so all the mod cons are there which is great.”
Excellent location handy to township. With attention to a few small items our stay could have been alot more enjoyable. I note some of same issues I saw in the reviews are still unresolved. Downstairs shower blocked, departure instructions water stained - so hard to read and cobwebs and spiders everywhere - you couldn't walk through the house without getting cobweb in the face when we arrived. I did not expect to have to get the vacuum out to deal with all the webs upon arrival - perhaps spider treating property would resolve this. For the money we paid I expected a higher standard.
- Kat, April 2023Thank you very much for your feedback we are glad you enjoyed the great location. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us insight into what was disappointing with your stay. We are working with our local team and the owner to address the issues you have raised. We hope to host you again in the near future. Bachcare
Cameron “The shower upstairs was blocked and it filled up after a minute.”
We had to unblock the drain ourselves so we could use it. The instructions regarding tv and rubbish etc were water damaged. Saw a post earlier about this but still not fixed. We couldn't figure out what to do with tv or rubbish as a result. Disappointing as the little things are what make a holiday amazing. There was no proper rubbish bin to put out, just a garden bin which smelt like it had a dead body rotting in it. Overall I thought the money we spent was a lot for what we got, especially with the above issues. These would need to be fixed if we were to consider staying there again, or if we were to recommend it to others.
- Cameron, January 2023Hi Cameron, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. These items will be addressed and resolved to ensure that they do not occur when you next visit. Thank you again for staying. Bachcare
David “This is a solid Bach and really nice house… several bathrooms, good space, great kitchen, plenty of parking, close to the town But… there is a significant problem.”
BBQ was disgustingly filthy, and we learned (after we had gone out, purchased cleaning materials and cleaned it!!) that there was no gas in the BBQ, so unable to BBQ at all Looking at the feedback from others, this is a recurring issue. Bachcare know about this. So, If Bachcare fixed this, it would be a five star property.
- David, December 2022We appreciate your review David and have passed along your feedback to our local team. We hope to host you again in the future. Update: We have now replaced the BBQ with a new one. Bachcare
Jenny “It was nice having a wee note from the Bachcare lady Yvette.”
Thank you for the free use of sheets. It was a nice surprise. Also nice to have the kitchen things available - not that we used them as we mostly ate out. Also nice to have toilet paper and handwash. We enjoyed our stay very much Thankyou
- Jenny, August 2022Sarah “Great house with most of your home comforts available to you.”
Great location, enough showers and toilets to accommodate 5 ppl. We stayed in winter so didn’t use the deck upstairs but it’s a good entertainment space. Downstairs the heat pump was handy and upstairs we had an oil heater. There were a few things that were a bit disappointing. The coffee machine had no pods, the wifi didn’t work so essentially the tv room upstairs wasn’t fit for purpose, no washing powder and the microwave hadn’t been cleaned from the last use. House instructions could do with being updated as they are a bit water damaged so not able to read everything. We came from the South Island so don’t tend to take items like coffee pods and washing powder with us . Overall though we had a lovely stay.
- Sarah, June 2022Thank you very much for your feedback we are glad you enjoyed the great location. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us insight into what was disappointing with your stay. We are happy to let you know we have resolved these issues. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Bachcare
Marewa “A beautiful whare that is comfortable, warm (or cool with air-con when needed) that is perfect for whatever your kaupapa is.”
Perfect for a whanau or a group of friends looking to holiday up North, and it was perfect for our group of kaimahi working on Waitangi Day. Debbie is lovely and she made the check-in and check-out process so easy, while also making us feel very welcome.
- Marewa, February 2021Laura “The property was wonderful.”
Perfect for a family and a nice gentle stroll to all that Paihia has to offer.
- Laura, December 2020Grant “Excellent holiday had by all.”
The house is so well laid out, that it easily absorbs 7-9 people. The house is very quiet, so any action downstairs does not disturb those upstairs. The house has been designed to cater for a larger group. The slider doors on the bottom floor fully open, creating a more spacious feel and allowing a nice breeze to waft through the house. The kitchen facilities were superb, including a large stainlees benchtop that is perfect for preparing food for a large team! Two bathrooms and toilets also cater perfectly for the amount of people living in the house. Great design, great location, great holiday spot.
- Grant, December 2019Amy “Great location, with room for all the family.”
Well presented property, we had a lovely time. Had everything you would need.
- Amy, February 2019Phillipa “Top spot for extended family or group of buddies - open light and airy, short walk to beach and ferry port.”
Easy and well supplied.
