Emma “Very beautiful setting.”
Loved hearing the kiwi at night and waking up to a waters view. The place isnt anything fancy as you would expect from the era it was built but we were ok with that. We did find that it wasn't very clean particularly in the bathroom. I think it may have been shut up for awhile. There are a few things that would of been handy to have particularly in the kitchen like a scrubbing brush. I do think it should be noted that the onsite/owner lives directly next door to the house. We did feel uncomfortable with this and felt we had to be really quiet - she was lovely but didnt feel like you had privacy the same as a standalone building. We also found bachcare disappointing to deal with.

Elizabeth “A wonderful spot for a family stay.”
We enjoyed the surroundings and the facilities of the park. Being able to have our dog stay with us was lovely. The property was clean and tidy and comfortable. The kitchen had all the items needed to cook a meal for the family and friends who came up from their cottage. The BBQ was excellent and sitting on the deck in the evening watching the bird life was a little bit magical.
- Elizabeth, January 2023Kit And Mel “We had a nice long weekend with the family and our dog.”
We stayed at the Points House and it’s nicely maintained and had all that we need. Totally enjoyed our stay and we will definitely return.
- Kit And Mel, October 2022Michelle “Overall we had a really enjoyable stay at the point house.”
The best thing was the private beach and access to kayaks and stand up paddle boards. Our 10 year old boys spent hours in the kayaks (even though it was winter). We also loved having our dog stay with us. Despite the issues outlined below we would probably stay here again (probably only in summer though). However, there were a few things that clouded our enjoyment: 1) There was nothing on Bachcare's listing to say that the property did not have enough space for boats. Looking at the photos it looked like there was plenty of room to turn a boat around. However, we found out the hard way that there was not. We arrived at night so didn't realise that on one side of the very narrow concrete driveway is a very soft and in places deep drain. Unfortunately our boat trailer slipped off the driveway and into the deep drain. In the process of trying to get it out (by backing it back up the steep hill) we have all but burnt out the clutch on our 4WD ute. A terrible start to our trip. Due to the deep drains we were also unable to get a big enough turning area to turn the boat around. It took 4 of us to unhook it from the ute and turn it around very carefully on the hill. We ended up paying to store it at a lock up down the road. 2) There were at least 3 rats in the walls and ceiling of the house. We were woken most mornings by rats scratching inside the walls. Our Jack Russell dog was also very excited about it. We live in the country and understand that it is common to have rats seek shelter in the ceiling and walls in the winter so weren't too concerned. However, many people would be freaked out by this. Rats could also chew through electrical cables. Time to put some rat bait out!! 3) The heater supplied with the accommodation did not work properly and kept turning on and off so was not suitable to heat the house. It was fortunate that we brought our own heater. 4) When we arrived the shower drain was completely blocked and it was not possible to have a shower without the tray overflowing. We pulled the inside part out of the drain hole and discovered it to be full with hair and slimy grime. This would have built up over months and had obviously not been cleaned by the cleaner. It is clean now!
