Jim “We really enjoyed our stay in chalet 8 at Wairoro Park surrounded by trees and bush.”
The unit was well laid out, well equipped and very clean. The site beside the sea with its private beach and kayaks was very special. Ceiling fans at the hottest time of the year were very welcome. I do feel however that the place was let down by the grounds appearance and some very old buildings. There is a partially filled pond that seemed just a home for mosquitoes and the lifejackets were stained and very unappealing. There is scope for a lot of maintenance! I think the owners should ...
I think the owners should stress the beauty of the surroundings and bush and do more planting, and clear away the various broken down structures. Deckchairs, paving, shelters do not last for ever and need to be regularly upgraded. A bush walk where we night have seen kiwi at night would be welcome. As we never saw any management staff, for five nights access to more than one hand towel would have been nice, maybe four rather than three towels for the two of us.
