Elizabeth “Another fabulous week at Wairoro Park.”
This is our second year and with the hot and sunny weather over the week, we made the most of all the facilities and water activities provided at the park each day. The teenagers had loads to do and it was only a small drive to Russell for jumping off the wharf and to Long Beach. Hearing Kiwi at night is a real highlight also. We made great use of the bbq and enjoyed dinner on the deck each night. Everything was clean and tidy and in good order. We’re already booked to be back next ...

Rob “A lovely, clean, cosy cottage in a beautiful, secluded location.”
Kayaks and paddle board were great for the kids. Suggest reef shoes for the private beach as there are some sharp shells and squishy sand. None of the light bulbs in the bathroon were working when we arrived but luckily there was a suitable spare provided. We had a great time and would certainly go back.
- Rob, December 2023Josie “We had the best time at the tree house.”
We loved the kayaks, table tennis, paddle boards and how dog friendly the place was. It was very quiet and the little beach was very pretty and relaxing. This place is a real gem and I hope to stay again.
- Josie, January 2023Trudi “A delightful, secluded little haven!”
We had 4 nights at the Tree House & would love to have stayed longer. It was really special to share the adventure with our 2-year old dog. Note, the Plum House is a close neighbour. The group there didn’t have a dog & one man was nervous/awkward with ours (and her with him!) so this needed managing. The upstairs bedroom was very warm at night but the fans helped. The property is just lovely. Birdlife is abundant, tui, weka, fantails everywhere. We watched and listened for hours. Recommend bush walks nearby (dogs on lead) and perhaps to avoid Russell township when cruise ships are in! Thank you to the family for being dog friendly and sharing your slice of paradise.
- Trudi, December 2022Storm “Just a minor thing, be good to know that boat trailer manoeuvrability is minimal.”
- Storm, October 2022Mike “A very nice safe place”
- Mike, April 2022Claudia “Lovely place to stay with the kids and dog, location awesome right on the beach with plenty of space and things to do.”
Close to Russell and the ferry. Quiet location.
- Claudia, April 2021Fiona “This place is great.”
Truly dog friendly. Not crowded, has a little private beach. The units are basic certainly but well equipped, clean and they are kind of cool. You bring your own linen. The natural beauty is lovely. Right on the water and very private. It’s own little haven. Especially for dog lovers! They can roam happily.
- Fiona, January 2021Christine “Just had a fabulous few days at Wairoro Park.”
Dogs and child friendly, lovely accommodation, gorgeous setting and fabulously peaceful. Just what we needed.
- Christine, January 2021Jennifer “It was our first time staying at Wairoro Park with our two dogs and it was their first ever holiday away from home.”
We had a really wonderful time swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding everyday with our pets. The place is private, exclusive but well set up with all the amenities you need. It’s a great place to stay for the whole family. Highly recommended!

Great for the kids! They enjoyed the kayaks and the rowing boat.
- Christine, February 2020Josephine “This property was perfect for our extended family group aged 6 to 67 years.”
We rented 4 of the houses at Wairoro, and loved the privacy, quiet serenity of the natural environment, and variety of activities on site-we didn’t have to venture out into the holiday madness unless we wanted to.

I've stayed in two different chalets, both with excellent facilities, fantastic sea views, a good level of privacy and attractive, well-cared-for communal areas again with good facilities. We will definitely come back.
