    “The location of this property is outstanding, you could not ask for a better positioned beachfront property 5+ stars.”

    The size of the house for larger groups or even two families, was perfect, good sized rooms, 2 toilets and 2 showers - we were a group of 6 and we never tripped over each other. Beds were comfortable, we took our own pillows. Having some sharp kitchen knives would be great, or a knife sharpener - lots of knives but none that were sharp, a pizza cutter would be outstanding too. Could not find a dishcloth so bought one (not sure if this is something you dont provide due to hygiene??). ...

Access to the property is past a house at the front, of which the owner is very nice and very accommodating, allowing us to park a vehicle on his land to ease congestion. The description of the property is correct in that only a small boat is feasible with the access/space - there is limited turning - we had 3 vehicles and the easiest way was to back the vehicles in. There is a tree positioned right on the edge of the gateway that makes it hard when you have a boat. The property itself gardens/fencing/house is in need of some repairs and maintenance. The gardens need tidying up and trimming back - the basement of the house is very dark as not a lot of light gets in - if I may suggest the garden by the downstairs door be pulled out and low growing shrubs/plants be replaced so that light can enter in. The cobbled driveway needs attention - the roots from a previous tree have made it very uneven and the guttering is rusting from the constant assault from the ocean/sea spray I am guessing. The home when we arrived was clean and tidy but when you looked closer you could see that a good spring clean/deep clean was required. Skirtings needed cleaning, window joinery was filthy,especially on the ranchsliders, the upstairs shower needed a good going over with a toothbrush in those hard to reach corners. Lightbulbs were out in the downstairs rumpus and the bedroom next to the master. The revolving/rocking chairs were great (we used to have the exact same suite) but the fabric did need to have a very good clean, especially where your heads rest. Bachcare itself were very good at responding to any of our questions, could not fault them. We did get mixed up with the rubbish collection dates as some of the signs contradicted each other. We were grateful for the dry stocks that were in the pantry - oil, flour, BP etc and Salt, pepper and the tinfoil, gladwrap etc. We enjoyed our stay at your property and were thankful that you allowed us to bring our 4 legged children with us - you have an amazing property that just needs some TLC. Would definitely recommend. We used the hose to get rid of the salt spray on deck windows - which made the view to the front 100 times better - to not be able to apprecite that view to its full potential would have been awful!

The property

Matarangi Beachfront House is a 4 bedroom plus rumpus room, 2 bathroom Matarangi holiday home with Sky TV, Sky Sport and fibre WiFi. This is a fantastic Coromandel getaway as close to the beach as you can get at Matarangi! This 2 storey Matarangi holiday home enjoys fresh and bright open plan living...Take in the marvellous, sweeping views to the Mercury Islands and Great Barrier Island from the main living, dining and kitchen areas and the master bedroom! Upstairs, the lounge area leads onto the deck for dining al fresco, or wander down to the beach just moments from your door! Each of the 4 bedrooms at this Matarangi accommodation is located upstairs. Bedrooms 1 and 2 are both fitted with a king bed, bedroom 3 is fitted with a queen bed, and bedroom 4 is fitted with 2 singles. You will find a bathroom on each floor for an easy holiday set-up. The rumpus room enjoys easy indoor/outdoor flow plus a pool table and a minibar. There is also an additional queen bed located in this room. This is an ideal spot for the kids, or for 2 groups keen to have their separate space! Everything you need for a refreshing break away is on hand... As there is unfenced access to the beach, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water.

Entrance to garage is narrow if you're bringing a boat, 14 ft is fine.
