Alex “Issues with bachcare: * very poor communication, not listening to or acknowledging our concerns.”
The communication began ok- there was extreme weather which meant the property could not be accessed- bachcare said they would refund us this night. I asked if the property could be accessed the next day. They said they would let us know as, due to the weather the situation was unpredictable. This was fair. However, this was where they stopped communicating with us. I emailed to see if property was accessible the next day. Hearing nothing back to confirm it was accessible and because Waka Kotahi were still saying roads were closed we did not go to property this day. Too much risk to travel four hours if we would have to then turn round and return home. So missed two nights of our stay. Bachcare have refunded us for one despite not confirming the property was accessible on the second day like they said they would. They have not responded to any of my further direct emails on this matter which is extremely poor communication and rather rude. Feedback on property: * location and facilities- as advertised the location is amazing and the facilities old and basic. The space is a decent size for a family. There was 6 of us. * cleanliness- not great. Stove top/oven quite sticky, bits of food in cutlery drawer. I wouldn’t mind but the cleaning fee you are obliged to pay is quite large. * feeling of damp in downstairs bedrooms. It felt very damp and there was a moldy smell in downstairs bedrooms. There was visible mould on a cushion/pillow. None of our party felt comfortable sleeping downstairs. This is something to consider if you have a large party and need multiple bedrooms. * linen. A little tired. Bring your own pillows duvets, covers and sheets.

We had an amazing time. It's just minutes walk to an amazing beach with great swimming. Property is dated, but it's portrayed honestly in photos. Look forward to staying again l.

It's not modern, but it's characterful, comfy and has all you need - view, space, activities and a 1 minute walk to the beach.

Linen
Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.
The property
Located in the centre of Opito Bay, this basic two-storey, four-bedroom Spanish-style home has only the road and dunes separating it from the beach. Upstairs there are three bedrooms. The first bedroom has a double bed, the second bedroom has twin single beds, both of these rooms have glass sliding doors opening onto an enclosed deck, the third bedroom has a double and a single bed. The main rooms are a large open plan living, dining and kitchen space with extensive windows and a free standing fireplace. The dining table in this area seats eight people. Leading off the open plan living/dining room is a deck area, enclosed with sliding doors and carpet tiles on the floor. This area allows access to the magnificent views of Opito Bay and far beyond. This can be used as an additional lounge or dining area as there is another couch and casual dining table. Downstairs is another bedroom with a double bed. There is also a large games room with a pool table and divan beds. There is a laundry room which has an older style clothes washer and a bathroom off the games room which also has a chest freezer and another fridge. Enjoy your vacation at Endless Views!
As the deck barrier is below 1 metre high, all guests should take care in this area due to the risk of falls.
