Easy little kid walking distance to playground, cafes and four square, and beach access makes it easy to bring kids home after a play at the beach. The place is huge and has plenty of toys ans books, so works well even when the weather is cold and wet.

The cleanliness under the current property manager was very good. The maintenance and comfort of the furnishings and appliances were very poor. Specifically, -Beds were very uncomfortable. Internet available mattresses would be a huge upgrade -Kitchen appliances and appointments were terrible. Hob temperatures were very high at any setting...making cooking difficult. The pots and pans were lacking. -The4egrill was actively dangerous. Sarah, the property manager, addressed several times, and was excellent. This was literally an explosion risk. - There was a basic smoke alarm missing. Sarah put one in to address. -The upstairs bathroom light was running very hot, and left scorch marks and a strong burning smell when moths and insects got in while it was left on for nighttime guidance. very dangerous. Overall, rthe furnishings are old and worn. We will not be renting again if there is not better condition and attention.

Furnishing was pretty shabby and awful. not enough seating in the lounge. Brroken chairs, old furniture, wobbly table. Dangerous grill. Sarah wotrkerd to fix things while she could, but the Hob doesn't have adjustable heat, there are no baking sheets , the frying pans were a disgrace. Again, Sarah fixed some of it. Beds were truly awful and uncomfortable. The light in the upstairs bacthroom heated up to burning when moths flew in at night and it was left off. Actually a scorch mark and burning smell when light was left on for nighttime navigation. We love this location, but before we pay this much, we would have to see some serious upgrades

It was clean and tidy with everything we needed. The location was perfect, close to the cafes and shops and we loved having our own access to the beach and enjoyed the views from the living room and deck.

Accommodation was good and lovely view from the balcony. However there were some things that need addressing. 1)Main bed upstairs- the bed mattress needs replacing. The mattress slopes from the right and coil springs can be heard when sitting on bed. 2) pool cue sticks are damaged 3) lack of chairs for outside balcony 4) outside table and chairs in backyard need a good clean 5) Only 1 wine glass

A short private path to the beach and stunning views from living room - trees obstruct some of the views. While the property is clean, tidy and spacious we were disappointed with the quality of the furniture- no comfortable sitting to sit and look at the view. No sofas or chairs to relax on and enjoy the view and company. The dining table was wobbly, chairs creaky and the beds springy and light on bedding. The oven - also easily unpredictable. The property is stunning but the comfort aspect lets it down, one of the guests commented that at the price point you’d expect comfortable sofas and seating in the living space. Also even with the heaters it was cold in the downstairs bedrooms with one person having to raid the used bedroom for extra bedding as they couldn’t sleep as so cold. Definitely needs another type of heating downstairs.

The property was musty and dusty when we arrived, with dust on all surfaces. The hob was functional, but you couldn't effectively manage the temperature(always high). The property wasnin general functional, but the condition of the outdoor furniture and the yard was a bit of a concern. Other than the minor things reported, the stay was wonderful,nand the general property was great.

Mike “On arrival we noticed a few things: 1.”
The rubbish from the previous guests had not been taken away 2. The floors had not been vacuumed, especially noted on the stairs. 3.The windowsills had not been cleaned - huge, dead blow flies abundant. 4. The pool table /tennis table area was littered badly with dead leaves/garden material which we swept away for you. 5. Lower Garden area was unkempt and overgrown. 6. Top of stove was dirty(element surrounds); uncleaned silver dishes in tray cupboard. We also noticed: 1. There was no can opener 2. There were no oven mitts for getting hot things out of the oven; needs to be on the list that you send out if you not providing. We had trouble with: Excessive noise from partying neighbours (midday 13/1/22 to 3am 14/1/22) Neighbours from party above using the beach track on the property at 1.30am to get to the beach; noisy young men which frightened the younger female members of our group. Must put this on the listing that others are using the beach access through the property.

Eleanor “Our friend group had a fantastic time in Waikanae despite a rainy forecast, this in major part due to these amazing accommodations.”
The property was perfectly located in Waikanae near the Long Beach Tavern, FourSquare and right next to the beach. Little things like having plenty of space, parking spaces (room for four cars easily), dining chairs (ten+), reading material, toilet paper, towels, and a very well-stocked kitchen with every utensil I could have imagined, made the property feel extra welcoming and the whole trip super easy.

It is the perfect property for a family get together where there is a range of ages. Providing table tennis table and BBQ in garage and easy access to beach. It is good to note the stairs to the living area are quite steep if there are elderly people in the group. One of the best features is how warm this property is with a very effective fire place .

Amazing views from upstairs, and it was lovely to arrive back in the afternoon to a sun-warmed lounge. We booked the property primarily for somewhere to sleep, and were disappointed with the overall comfort and cleanliness of the beds. The duvets and pillows would certainly benefit from some upgrading.

Insides are dated and the kitchen has lots of supplies but it’s not very high quality - so better not to cook there unless you have to. Wouldn't be suitable for very young children due to the stairs and the distance between the lounge and the garden and the ungated beach access. Nice place overall for a basic stay.
