“Absolutely loved our stay at this house.”
It had lots of room for the kids to run around outside, the fire and heaters kept us very warm and the gorgeous views across the lake were amazing. I loved the layout of the house and the boys loved the bath after being at the rugby comp all day. We had a rabbit and pheasant on the front lawn in the mornings and the fact that it was just outside of town made it my dream place to stay. Highly recommend

That said the outdoor furniture was basically unusable which is a shame because the outdoors in this property is a real drawcard. The deck is sadly in need of a pressure wash and repair. If the rest of the house is updated to the level of the bathrooms it will truely be a grand place to stay again.

Wallpaper ripped, decks not in good repair. However, taking the above into account the property suited our needs. The view was stunning and there was plenty of lovely space for the children to use outside.

Property is very tired, not well maintained. Number of issues experienced during our stay being, roof leaking in lounge onto sofa when raining, shower ensuite broken, outdoor furniture unusable as broken and rotten, BBQ deck area unsafe - rotten timber deck, BBQ not clean, wallpaper coming off in bedrooms, very small fridge - not as advertised and not an adequate size for number of quests. Overall a very disappointing experience and not as advertised. Photos on Bachcare site are very out of date and do not reflect the true poor state. We have taken up issues with Bachcare, but not what you expect for the $$$ paid per night.

Actually I would say the photos don’t do this house/property justice - it’s a really amazing spot. Everything was lovely and clean, such a nice space to relax. The only thing I would warn is the access to the property is a little bit tricky if your towing a boat, it’s just a bit windy, narrow and steep for the last 2 minutes up to the house so it’s absolutely manageable but if your not overly confident towing then just be aware of this and take it slow. But our stay was 11/10, thank you very much!

I would love to rate the property a 10 but i must say the beds and bedding could do with being replaced the beds were not very comfortable and the quilts are very thin and dated. The curtains could be changed unless you like to wake as soon as the sun comes up.

Comfortable lounge and great sized kitchen with good dining table. Great wifi. Large home with plenty of heating. Being on top place of Acacia Bay you have beautiful view of sunrise and sunset. . Good bathroom facilities. We would return for a further stay. We were very comfortable and loved the views.

Boating ramp just down the road. Peaceful. Bedrooms a bit tired but comfortable. Better suited for 6 people as pull out bed in study/sun room two small for two people Would come here again.

The BBQ gas bottle was empty but a txt to the property manager and next thing a full gas bottle arrived so we were back in business. A great week away and we were all not ready to leave at the end of it.

What a great place for a large group - we only left to walk to the lake and back - although the hill was steep it made the wine all that better when you get to the top :)

Just what we wanted with my wife's sleeping problem. The house very well fitted with amenities but if you have a sleeping problem and are acutely sensitive to light at night or early in the morning the curtains are not black out ones.

Comfortable lounge and great sized kitchen with good dining table. Great wifi. Large home with plenty of heating. The garden space is fabulous. The decor is a little tired in the bedrooms but the beds and linen are very good. Good bsthroom facilities. We would return for a further stay. We were very comfortable and loved the views.

Laketop Retreat is a 3 bedroom plus sun room, 2 bathroom Acacia Bay holiday home at Lake Taupo. Set on generous grounds with expansive rural and lake views, this relaxed holiday base includes Wi-Fi... Everything you need for a peaceful escape awaits! This Acacia Bay holiday home includes spacious open plan living with ample room to relax and unwind... Stay cosy by the fire and take in the views from indoors, enjoy the conservatory complete with uninterrupted lake vistas, or set yourself up outdoors for ideal summer living! Bedroom 1 at this Acacia Bay accommodation includes beautiful lake views, a fully renovated ensuite bathroom, and is fitted with a queen bed. Bedroom 2 has also has a queen bed, and bedroom 3 is fitted with 2 single beds. The main bathroom has also been recently renovated and is equipped with a bath and shower. A King size single sofa bed is available in the sun room plus a single rollaway bed is on hand in the office. When you are not enjoying the peaceful grounds, head into town a 5 minute drive away, or set out on adventure and explore everything on offer in the Taupo region. About the location
Just a few minutes drive from Taupo Central, Acacia Bay is a great place for a holiday filled with boating, fishing and hiking. Head into town for some shopping and an array of excellent cafes, or drive to see the famous Huka Falls. Another great thing to do is to simply find a good spot and take in the view of Lake Taupo over a picnic or some fish and chips. All of our Acacia Bay holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.
