Beds were comfortable. Microwave will need an upgrade as doesn't work particularly well. Kids and us really enjoyed our stay.

The beds are quite small (doubles, I believe?) and if you have any luggage, you pretty much have to climb over it every time you go to bed. The kids bedroom/bunk bed room goes off the main kitchen & lounge area and the walls are super thin, which means you can pretty much just whisper once the kids are in bed. Not ideal. The sofas in the lounge have seen better days and are not very comfortable. There were quite a few cobwebs inside, and the patio area didn’t seem very well maintained either. The deck is quite rustic and we caught a couple of splinters there, better wear your jandals. The location was the best thing about it, but I don’t think we’ll be back.

Awesome to see a new kitchen installed since last year. Would be great to see a full size fridge or maybe a second fridge/freezer in the garage. Also a family sized BBQ would be nice. Love this place. We'll stay again.

Also wonderful to be able to take our dog with us. Lots of walks just a stones throw away. I do however agree with a number of other comments that it could be just about perfect with some different furniture. The couches and the bed were not that comfortable, particularly if the purpose for your holiday is to relax, and have lovely sleep ins. We took our outdoor bean bags with us so did have comfort while lounging outside. Other than that, a lovely place.

Heatpump and wood burner make the house toasty warm in winter. (Thanks to the hosts for turning on the heatpump before we arrived!) Excellent wood supply. Lounge gets great sun. Love the lockup garage for toys and gear. Fridge/ freezer is a bit small for a family so a second one in the garage would be awesome. Likewise would be great to see an up-sized BBQ too. Awesome bach and only two minutes to the boat ramp.

The house had a nice feel too it, and spacious. Master room had limited space. One of the things we look for in a holiday home is comfort, we did not get this unfortunately the couches were all dated, low to the ground and in our opinion uncomfortable to sit on. The mattress in the master bedroom was so very hard it had no give . The first morning both of us woke with backpack and had little sleep which was not a good start to a birthday weekend away. The second night we tried sleeping on top of the duvet but ended up sometime during the night sleeping separately. I'd suggested a new med mattress or provide a foam mattress topper to help. Despite the comfort level for us...it's a lovely home! One to the lake as well. But we won't stay again.

We loved being able to take our dog with us, but it's worth knowing that the property isn't fenced so if you have a 'wanderer', you need to keep on your toes :)

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.
The property
Little Lockwood is a cosy 3 bedroom plus sleepout Kuratau bach. This cute and casual lake base is just a short walk through the reserve to the lake... Enjoy the beautiful scenery just minutes from your door! This Kuratau bach includes sunny open plan living with a fireplace for toasty winter stays. A fantastic addition to the Little Lockwood bach is its private, sheltered and sunny backyard that is gravelled and paved - a perfect place to kick back and enjoy a BBQ! Bedroom 1 at this Kuratau accommodation is fitted with a double bed, bedroom 2 includes a single bunk set and bedroom 3 has one single bed. The sleepout includes a further double bed plus 2x single beds. Each dwelling includes a bathroom for an ideal holiday set up... perfect for families and couples! Located in a quiet street, Little Lockwood makes for a peaceful stay away. In addition, the property is handy to plenty of outdoor pursuits such as a children's playground, tennis courts, recreation field, boat ramp, bush walks, hot pools, cafes, and wineries... Little Lockwood welcomes you for a low key Kuratau stay!
Sleepout included in the nightly rate.
Please note there is no heating in sleepout although fully insulated. Double bed does have an electric blanket.
The single bed provided in the sleepout is small and may only be appropriate for children.
Dogs welcome, however please be aware property is not fenced

Located on the Southern end of Lake Taupo, Omori is a more secluded area around the lake. There's plenty of native bush and bushwalks to do here, as well as water-based activities on the lake such as kayaking, swimming, boating and water skiing. Because the area stretches over a hill, most of the holiday homes have a great view of the lake. All of our Omori holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.
