Bronwyn “This was perfect for twins 70th birthday with siblings and children.”
Plenty of space for the children outside and ideal for adults on the covered deck. Unlimited kitchen equipment and easy kitchen to work in.

- Graham, August 2024Cameron “Such a great place.”
Perfect for our extended family and will certainly be looking to re-book!
- Cameron, September 2022Darren “Fantastic house for our friends get together, had plenty of supplies and was clean on arrival.”
The covered in deck and pizza oven were great and the backyard was massive for a game of cricket.
- Darren, March 2022Karen “Great place to stay for families, private, great views and plenty of space.”
- Karen, December 2021Karen “We enjoyed staying here so much we’ve already booked for a second stay!”
Wonderful home, well appointed, has everything you need, including an awesome pizza oven :) The Bachcare manager was fantastic, great communication, super contactable and friendly, she even got the fire set up ready for us to just drop a match on when we arrived later than we had hoped in the dark and cold. Wonderful stay, thanks for sharing your beautiful holiday home with us, I am sure we will be back many times!
- Karen, June 2021Sumit “Lovely views.”
Lot of open spaces for a perfect holiday.
- Sumit, January 2021Miriam “This house is great and the lake view and handy location is awesome.”
However a few minor maintenance and cleaning issues let it down a bit. The bbq was filthy (again this year) and the house needs a really good spring clean (loads of dead flies and dust under furniture etc). However, we loved staying there and would stay again - thanks.
- Miriam, January 2020Thanks for your review Miriam. At Bachcare we pride ourselves on our properties being sparkling clean, and we're sorry your experience did not meet our usual high standard on this occasion. We're glad you loved the location and view at Tranquil Te Puke and we hope to welcome you back again in the future! Bachcare
Anne “We stayed at this place over the weekend to go snowboarding.”
Had to literally drive past cows and over their droppings to get to the house. Supermarkets are not in close vicinity but had to make trips out a few times to buy dish washing liquids and drinking water, etc. if you’re intending to stay here, please pack appropriate cleaning tools and pesticides/ insecticides. The boys had to remove some nasty crawlies. Also got charged a little over a half of a day’s cost despite leaving it in similar condition to how we found it. Future guests
- Anne, August 2019Just pre-purchase cleaning - if possible, unless your profession is in the cleaning sector. Regardless of the condition you’ve found it in and maintained the same by wiping down the place with what’s available (i.e. toilet paper, squeegee for shower cubicle and kitchen paper towels), money is withdrawn out from your card the day after departure. So for the peace of mind and to save your effort, just prepay for cleaning. I got charged for the small chip of woodpiece near the fireplace too. Fireplace was good to have, didn’t get to use the outdoor table due to the weather. Bachcare
Miriam “We loved our stay and the property is great.”
It is located just up the hill from the beach but feels like you are really in the country, which was lovely. The garden is huge and was perfect for after dinner cricket with the kids and the outdoor fire made for awesome marshmallow toasting! There were some minor maintenance and cleaning issues which have now been relayed to the owner and manager so I'm sure these will be fixed. But otherwise, we would recommend this property - a great family holiday spot!

About the location
Located on the Southern end of Lake Taupo, Omori is a more secluded area around the lake. There's plenty of native bush and bushwalks to do here, as well as water-based activities on the lake such as kayaking, swimming, boating and water skiing. Because the area stretches over a hill, most of the holiday homes have a great view of the lake. All of our Omori holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.
