Tyrone “The house itself was beautiful and apart from the few hiccups we enjoyed our stay however I was so worried about getting blamed about all the damages that were already done to the property that I found it hard to completely enjoy my stay.”
The amount of cock roaches and ants on the property were a bit of a concern, two chairs were broken outside, crack in the upstairs toilet seats the array of markings or chips to the walls of the place, upstairs toilet and main bedroom behind lamps and head boards. Personally it looked like a huge set up so that I could take the blame which had me worried the duration of the stay. Maybe a walk through with the property manager or something before hand just to ensure someone can point these things out before we use it for our peace of mind and evidence that it wasn’t us. I have pictures of said damages and cockroaches which I shouldn’t have to waste hours of my time going through the damages of the house taking pictures etc in fear of being blamed. Please look into this and have someone email to further discuss what will happen with this unorthodox happening of the usage of the taupo house.

A good location, close to town centre and awesome things like a bbq and spa pool we absolutely loved! There was a bit of a cockroach problem unfortunately which we encountered so fingers crossed that’s dealt with soon.

Nadia “Loved the place and worked perfectly for our large family.”
The spa was a real drawcard and the location was ideal. The plumbing and fixtures needs attention as some taps did not work well and the shower door in the ensuite did always not shut well. The oven was not clean and had a large burnt spill on the oven floor and i had to clean it myself. We had a few days of rain during our stay and we wondered why the property had no dryer despite haaving a full size washer. Overall, it’s a fantastic holiday home, just needs some updating and maintenance to warrant the price that is charged.

Needs a good clean and many light bulbs needed replacing. taps in bathrooms are loose, so require two hands to turn them on and off. bedrooms on the lower floor get noise from people above walking around due to floor creaking.

Paula “We had a terrible experience with this property.”
Firstly the property is overpriced, however it was convenient for us as family live across the road. This is the last time I will use this property and Bachcare. We arrived at the property (at 3pm) and could not access the lock box. We had clearly been given the incorrect code. I rang Bachcare and had to wait for some time before the phone was answered. This was the start of our terrible experience. Bachcare had the same lockbox number and then texted the property manager and assured us that they were 20 minutes away and to call back if they haven’t turned up. In the meantime, we had found the keys under a recycling bin so we gained access to the house. The house was filthy and had not been cleaned. An hour later I called Bachcare back as the property manager hadn’t come around. Explained that I hadn’t heard from the property manager and the house hadn’t been cleaned. When I was on the call, I got a text from the property manager asking us to push back our check in time as the property hadn’t been cleaned. Bachcare were of no help so I said I would call the property manager. The property manager apologised and said that they would be around in an hour to clean the property. At 6pm that night no one had turned up to clean the property. I called and texted the property manager but didn’t hear back so it was yet another lengthy wait to speak to Bachcare to advise the situation. Bachcare were hopeless preferring to text property manager rather than front up and call them. While I was on the phone to Bachcare the property manager turned up to do the clean. They apologised, said that they were short staffed. As family live across the road I know the property had been vacant since Tuesday so I don’t know why the property wasn’t cleaned. We left them to do the clean. They also mentioned that the lock box code had been reset by a pervious person renting out the property and they just leave the keys under the recycling bin. Would have been good for Bachcare to know this so they could have passed that information onto us. The lack of communication between the property manager and Bachcare was appalling. When we went back later that evening it was tidier, but it was a rushed clean. There was still dust and crumbs on surfaces. The floor hadn’t been cleaned properly, there was an old soap bar still left in the shower. The owners need to step up and pay for a deep clean of the property. Walls and windows have finger marks all over them. Cobwebs need to be removed. The oven was disgusting – not that we were going to use it but I checked it after the terrible cleaning job. The spa was cold and wouldn’t stay at a decent temperature. Beds were uncomfortable. The wifi username and password that are in the welcome book were incorrect, they need to update this to the new modem. Overall, it was hugely disappointing experience. Bachcare were hopeless, they didn’t follow up to see if the place was cleaned or if we were settled in.

Lakewood Haven is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom 1 separate toilet Taupo holiday home with unlimited Wifi and luxurious spa for up to 8 guests. Located just a 5 minute drive from central Taupo this is an ideal base for your next Taupo adventure! This family friendly Taupō holiday home has cheerful and cosy open plan living upstairs including lounge, dining and kitchen. The lounge opens out onto a balcony, perfect for firing up the BBQ and taking in the views across the water. Bedrooms 1 and 2 at this Taupō accommodation are situated upstairs. Bedroom 1 is fitted with a queen bed and includes an ensuite and a walk in wardrobe. Bedroom 2 is fitted with 2 sets of single bunk beds. The third bedroom is located downstairs and is fitted with a king single bed with a trundler bed. Additionally, there is a small living area downstairs.
