“Great Location!”
The bedrooms lacked heaters, and during our stay, the temperatures dropped to freezing. Would recommend the owners/managers provide a heater in each bedroom. They did have electric blankets but it was still cold!! Lovely fireplace in lounge which warmed up the lounge and kitchen area only. Shrubs outside need cutting. Otherwise a cute bach.

Security is a joke - tiny slide bolt on the main front door & old lock on the back means I felt insecure leaving expensive belongings in the house while away. Ants all over the place as well as cockroaches - yuck. Also, the shower doesnt drain properly, fills up and overflows into the bathroom. It could be a really nice place with a little effort but as is I would not stay again nor recommend.

It is in a great location with easy access to the lake front for walking, biking and swimming - a 5 minute walk at most. There was lots of space for parking and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. There was no wi-fi, which we knew about ,so wasn't a problem and it was a real bonus being able to take our little dog along. The only issue was with Bachcare giving us the wrong lockbox code and then not responding in any way to phone calls to their 0800 number and an email. Luckily the neighbours were able to help us out.

It was close to the lake to go for a walk and a short drive from Taupo. We had a nice time overall, but please be aware there is no wifi. We would most likely stay here again.

It is just a stone's throw from lake access to the rotary trail at the north part of whakarewarewa. Around a 40 min walk to 2 mile bay boat hire/pizza and coffee, and probably another 40 into town. There's ample parking, a garage for storing toys (bikes/paddle board), 2 double bedrooms (very comfy beds) and a generously sized room with twin beds. Lounge opens onto deck with table where we ate all our meals. Bathroom and Kitchen had everything necessary (note no dishwasher, but that's fine on holiday) and lovely BBQ (weber!). Kids loved the games. If it had a lake view we'd give it 5 stars ;)

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.
The property
Copper Beech Cottage is a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom holiday home. Located just a stone’s throw away from the lake’s edge this home is the perfect base for an adventurous Taupo group getaway. The spacious 3 bedrooms include 2 queens and 2 singles. In bedroom 3 you will also find your own private access to the deck where you can sit peacefully among the private garden. The gorgeous high beam ceiling in the living area makes for a bright, airy and inviting space. During the winter season enjoy the cosy set up by the fire, and during the warmer months dine outdoors on the sundeck. Stay local and walk along the lake's edge and take in the serene setting or drive into Taupo Central, just 10 minutes away. For more sights, Huka Falls is 16 minutes away from your home. For the adrenaline junkies, there is no need to travel far - Taupo Bungy located right outside Taupo central along the Waikato river. Head to the Whakapapa Ski Fields for a snow filled day out with your group, just an hour away. Or if you're after a bit of sightseeing, the famous Orakei Korako Geothermal Park is just 1 hour north of the house. Whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation or are visiting for an endurance event, Copper Beech Cottage is the perfect base!

About the location
Just an 8 minute drive around the lake from Taupo Central, Wharewaka is a great base for a relaxing or adventure-packed holiday. It's out of the hustle and bustle of the centre, but still close to many of the bucket-list activities Taupo has to offer such as going out on the lake, visiting Huka Falls or even making the trek along the Tongariro Crossing.
