Heather “Great holiday home equipped with everything required.”
Need to advertise for boaties that access at high tide is fine but in between tides and low tide is terrible We enquired with Bachcare to extend our holiday by 2 days ( it was available) but they were going to charge us 100’s of dollars for change of dates and admin fees. Need to advertise for boaties that access at high tide is fine but in between tides and low tide is terrible We enquired with Bachcare to extend our holiday by 2 days ( it was available) but they were going to charge us 100’s of dollars for change of dates and admin fees. I’m sure the owner would have been quite happy to accept 2 nights accommodation and be horrified to find that Bachcare made it such a ridiculous price we elected to stay in Havelock for a quarter of the price and ventured out from there into the Sounds per day Apartt from that we (family of 6 ) had a lovely holiday and were very lucky with the weather .

Kathryn “We had a really lovely stay.”
the location was really great and well set up for everything we needed. The heaters and blankets were super. We enjoyed the dingy and will be booking again in the summer to make more use of the water. Great to find a clean, tidy and cost place that allows dogs. ours had a great weekend too, with hours and hours of sniffing!
- Kathryn, June 2023Jason “There was a note saying not to use the tap water, but use the filter.”
.. however the filter didn't work and therefore we had to buy heaps of water. There is a note to ring Sandy and has her cellphone number on it to ring if there are any problems, but there isn't cellphone coverage to ring out. We tried to use the landline, but this didn't work. We had a great stay as it's a great spot, but the water issue with 8 people was a real pain... and ended up being expensive buying so much water
- Jason, March 2023Hi Jason, thank you for reviewing your recent stay at Ngaire's Haven. We do apologise for the issue with the tap water at this property. There was some difficulty with organising a plumber due to the location of the property however admit that a temporary solution should have been offered for your stay. The property owners have confirmed that this issue has now been resolved. We are also investigating the communication available at the property due to the limited mobile phone reception. Thanks again for reviewing your stay and we hope you were still able to enjoy your holiday here. Bachcare
Katelyn “Truly beautiful location.”
A lovely bach. It could do with fresher/cleaner look and feel. Specifically the rugs, couches, wooden floor, carpet and paint. It is well lived in. It would be nice to mention that the water is limited. Loved the mooring and kayaks. We paid for linen and only got one towel each, this was poor as most people shower daily.
- Katelyn, February 2023Thank you for your review Katelyn. At Bachcare we take cleaning very seriously and have strict guidelines in place to maintain our high standards. We are sorry in this case this was not what you experienced. We will follow up on this with our local team along with any other maintenance that may be required. Bachcare

- Kelly, June 2022Matthew “We had the best time at Ngaire’s Haven, it was very convenient to everything and we really enjoyed soaking up the sun on the deck and having the beach right in-front of the bach.”
The location and view was amazing and the kitchen was well equipped. We had lots of success with our fishing and really appreciated the use of the mooring, dingy and kayaks. The house really felt like a home and is ideal for family and friends, we hope to book again in the near future.

We did lots of fishing and swam out to the raft every day. It was very handy having a mooring and dingy.
- Angela, January 2022Peter “Superb venue so close to the beach.”
Plenty of activities for the indoors, which we made use of when we were stuck during the weather-related State of Emergency that hit the Marlborough region in July 2021. We will be back to try the outdoors when the weather is better :-)
- Peter, July 2021Angela “Great house and beautiful spot.”
House well supplied with essential bits. Could do with an axe to chop kindling. But Sandy (very helpful) Bach manager was great in delivering off a box of kindling for us. Really enjoyed the house and location and would book again.

- Dianna, June 2020Rosie “Wonderful relaxing family weekend away.”
Kids had a blast with all the games, toys and DVDs. Beds were comfortable and had excellent views. House was clean and well organised. Despite it being June we had lots of sunshine and with the log burner it felt like summer in the house! Third house we have booked with Bachcare in the last 12 months, as usual everything was a breeze, from booking to check out!
- Rosie, May 2020Penney and John “A lovely property with good indoor outdoor flow.”
Well set out with easy beach access
- Penney and John, January 2020Bert “Stayed for 7 nights with 2 families.”
Nice views to the water, plenty of space for 7, comfortable beds. The kids enjoyed using the supplied kayaks. We also had our inflatable boat, although it was difficult to launch from the adjacent campground due to a lot of driftwood and the soft silty beach. Unfortunately we had a lot of rain and windy weather during our stay. The remote for the Freeview TV was missing at first, but a new decoder with remote was sent to us a few days later and after we connected it, it worked fine. Contrary to the description, free WIFI/internet wasn't available. There is also no mobile phone reception. We also had a brief power cut and no tap water on our last day. We had to fill the toilets with buckets of muddy water taken from the garden. The access to the property was getting very muddy from the heavy rain.
- Bert, December 2019Thanks for your review Bert. Our apologies that you experienced issues during your stay at Ngaire's Haven, however we are glad that your Holiday Manager was able to assist you. The WiFi at the property is now back up and running. Water conservation at properites on tank water is very important in summer to ensure the tank doesn't run dry. While we cannot control the weather, we hope to welcome you back in the future for a sunnier stay! Bachcare
