Tracey “We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this property.”
It was comfortable, clean and the views out of this world. So beautiful to wake up to each morning. Having the fireplace was an added comfort in a beautiful location after a hard days trek across the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. The driveway was very steep but as we were aware of this prior to our holiday we were prepared with a 4wd. We were a bit confused with the requested "checkout duties" as we had paid additional funds for cleaning but left it lovely and tidy regardless. Would definitely ...

Debra “We booked this property through Booking.”
Com. We were never advised about the steepness of the driveway or that a 4wd vehicle was needed to get to the house. When i contacted Bachcare upon arrival (the code given to the house was not correct and the several codes had to be cycled through before we could get into the house) and requested to speak to the property manager, i was only addressed by a text from the receptionist on duty. I was told that the issue with the driveway is discussed on Bachcare website. I never visited this site because the booking was done through Booking.com. Nowhere in the contract I was required to sign was the driveway issue discussed. Nor was it discussed that we had to drive out of our way to dispose of the garbage for our 2 night stay. Carrying luggage up a steep driveway that was in horrible condition was unacceptable. The house itself offered beautiful views and spacious accommodations, but the lack of transparency and response from the property manager, left a bad taste in our mouth.
- Debra, February 2024Thank you for your feedback and our apologies that the driveway access was not made clear to you. The rubbish removal is included in your stay and can be left at the property when you depart. Bachcare
Nicole “I think there needs to be more emphasis on how tough it is to get up the driveway - we had an AWD and struggled - there were instructions in the house that it's best to put AWD into gear 1 to drive up - this obviously would have been useful BEFORE struggling to get up.”
I also wasn't happy with the price quoted to send back a pillowcase - $40.00 to send back is very unreasonable. Apart from that the house was really nice
- Nicole, July 2023Edwina “Nice place to spend a few days.”
- Edwina, January 2023Jacob “Going up and down is for elderly people a bit of a challenge.”
Kitchen utensils were not very appropriate and some items were definitely not clean or old and worn out. The house itself is wonderful and to be recommended. Cleaning activities should be better monitored.
- Jacob, January 2023Roger “First and foremost, the steep hill to get to the lodge is no joke.”
Do not underestimate it. The rest of the lodge was amazing though. Couldn't see or hear another person, just surrounded by nature. Gets plenty of sunlight in all the main areas during the day. Would definitely recommend for a group outing!
- Roger, December 2022Tatiana “Great place , we had a great time .”
The weather wasn’t very good and we couldn’t go riding, but we were luck we could enjoy our stay and relax. I want to go back and hopefully I will be able to enjoy the view .
- Tatiana, September 2022Nikki “Fabulous property, couldn't fault it and we will be back soon.”
- Nikki, July 2022Reuben “Lovely property - fantastic views, warm and very nice place to decompress.”
I'm not sure what the "eco" refers to. We couldn't find the recycling bin - just took our recycling with us. As others have noted, the bed had my lower back playing up. Kitchen could do with some new pots and pans, but is a decent high spec kitchen. Cleaning was a bit half hearted - we re-washed dishes, and the bathrooms weren't spotless. However we followed directly in behind other guests so was probably a bit of a rush job. Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful property.
- Reuben, July 2022Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback and we are sorry that instructions were not clear as you most certainly do not need to take your recycling with you. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at this fabulous bach! Bachcare
Daniel “Magical place loved it the beds could do with a revamp would be my only whinge”
- Daniel, March 2022Isabel “Amazing house, incredible view when the fog cleared.”
Drying room is fantastic , I want one. Drive is quite long and steep, makes you reluctant to go out. Remote and peaceful.

- Darren, October 2021Sinead “Great big home to feel you’re away in what could be another country.”
Loved the views, lovely bathrooms! Beds are a little old so not supportive I’m afraid but can’t fault the feels of this place. Thanks!
- Sinead, August 2021Jamie “Tēnā koutou, Our whānau thoroughly enjoyed the stay here at Triple Peaks.”
It was a lovely place to head back to after a long ( resilience building kinda) day up on Mount Ruapehu. We had just enough of everything for all of our whānau; enough space for the kids to wind down with a movie while the adults had a wine and beer, in front of the fire and then a lovely huge table for us to all enjoy a hot meal to top it off. We only got the chance to see the spectacular views on the last morning of our stay- and how amazing was that! Definitely remarkable views! Would recommend to our whānau anytime, it's well worth the money spent. Ngā mihi nui mō tō manaakitanga!
