“We had a great time at the property, however was cold if you hadn't lit the fire and when we arrived.”

The fire gets very hot too, I feel this needs servicing as unable to control the output. Could benefit from a heat-pump, otherwise all good. We would recommend to others as we loved the area too. Thanks for allowing us to stay :-)

The property

Carrot Cake Chalet is a 2 bedroom Ohakune ski chalet - a warm, comfortable and well-appointed modern chalet located in the premier Snowmass development among other high quality properties, and within easy walking distance of the cafes, bars, restaurants, and the other facilities and attractions of downtown Ohakune. This property is perfect for your next ski retreat. The chalet offers a generous 93 sq m (1000 sq ft) single-level layout, with expansive open-plan living/dining/kitchen areas, plus two spacious bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a laundry - all tastefully furnished in an attractive modern style. Carrot Cake Chalet is perfect for fun-filled social gatherings, or that intimate weekend away for two. Glass sliding doors in the living area and bedrooms open onto a huge wrap-around timber deck, and provide stunning mountain views. The unusually large kitchen has everything you'll need to whip up a quick tasty snack, or to cook that culinary masterpiece for family or friends. The breakfast bar is great when you want to hit the slopes early, and a full-size dining table allows relaxed meals when you have more time to socialise or want to entertain. Double-glazing throughout, full insulation, and an eco-friendly wood fire, with wood supplied, will keep you cozy in any weather. The atmosphere with the lights dimmed, the fire crackling, a DVD on, and a glass of wine in hand, is hard to beat. The big deep bath will soak away aches and pains after a full-on day skiing, snowboarding, or mountain-biking, and a gas califont ensures you'll always have enough hot water whenever you want it. Every effort has been made to ensure this Ohakune accommodation provides for the perfect get-away - whether it be for skiing or snow-boarding in winter or as a base for mountain-biking, tramping, or kayaking in summer. Plan your next trip away at the Ohakune Carrot Cake Chalet. You won't be disappointed.

All guests should take extra care when using the upper bunk beds as these do not have guard rails to prevent falls.

Please note that bookings that include weekends in July-September, must be for consecutive weekend nights, and bookings may be cancelled if both the Friday and Saturday night are not included.

Please note a bond may be charged at certain times of the year. One of our team members will contact you if this is required for your booking.
