Debbie “Apon entering two bedrooms, right and left.”
Left hand one is huge with two parts to it. Has couch, single bed and kitchenette in first area then walk through to the bedroom and bathroom. Right hand bedroom, big with kitchenette and small bathroom. Head up stairs and on this level you have the huge lounge, small lounge, small dining, large kitchen, toilet and laundry. All such a great space with loads of windows and doors and wonderful that it's all on one level. Doors do need to have keys left in them in case of emergency!! Up staircase to a two single bedroom office. This room has two small openings to the lounge. The openings can be covered by louvres but this room is not sound proof. Up to the next level is the master bedroom which is huge with big bathroom - and a bath!!! Love the spaciousness. Windows everywhere - lots of natural light. Awesome fully equip kitchen. Love the two fireplaces and loads of firewood - was pretty cold when we were there. Great location. Key box - panel with combination number folds down to access keys. Keys need to be left in external doors upstairs as there is no way to get out in an emergency. If leaving lights on for late guests dont use lights where switches are hard to find - eg on stairwell. Took us friggen ages to turn off the floodlights. Needs a blinken good clean - eg carpets thoroughly vacuumed. Pay staff for a good spring clean. Bedroom over lounge area - at least have thick curtains covering openings into lounge. Toilet cistern runs in bedroom to right when entering house and top bedroom. Let people know there is no coffee sugar salt etc available (we left a bag of sugar and a container of salt for the next lot of guests) There were no face cloths. This was annoying. All in all we had a great stay and would definitely stay again. Thank you for having the house lovely and warm when we arrived and loads of firewood available.

Evelyn “This place was perfect for our family to catch up over Christmas.”
Seeing the rolling hills and the stream across the road from the dining room was just wonderful. The beds were super comfy and the kitchen was amazing. It really felt like a home away from home.

Bronwyn “Our stay was fantastic, the house was perfect and so funky.”
We really enjoyed ourselves and loved the layout of the house, it was super cozy and handy to both the Junction and town center. Highly reccomend staying if you get the chance.
- Bronwyn, June 2021Gloria “The photos dont do justice for this beautiful home!”
Had such an amazing time here and to have a perfect place that catered our stay in Ohakune, this house was perfect. Every room was tidy with beautiful views all round. Perfect for larger families with the two en-suites on the bottom floor. Highly recommended to any large family or group
- Gloria, June 2021Julie “Ducks Crossing is a great place to use as a base to explore the National Park and surrounds.”
Just a minute or two into Ohakune by car for great little supermarket and cafes. The house is huge, very comfortable and has a lovely welcoming feel. Would love to stay again in Winter to get the fires roaring. Highly recommend.
- Julie, December 2020Ben “Good and well-located house with double-glazing, woodburner in the kitchen and fireplace in the living room, well-equipped kitchen and overall good amount of space.”
Two of the bedrooms are set up as separate units downstairs, with individual kitchenettes and away from main heating etc, and third bedroom has shutters opening out into living room, so perhaps not so suitable for families with smaller children.
- Ben, July 2020Matt “The Ducks Crossing Property was a ideal for our getaway.”
We needed a comfortable warm base for our hiking weekend. The log fire and heat pump provided a great warmth to the property. The living room was very comfortable and cosy. Minutes to walk to the Powder Keg pub for dinner. The three bathrooms made it great for a group of nine of us. Would definitely return.
- Matt, May 2020Danielle “Great view.”

Great facilities and two fireplaces ensure the home is kept super warm and cosy. Beautifully kept and super easy to find with town 5 mins one way down the road and the mountain 20mins the opposite way. Will definitely stay again
