Marianna “This was a real gem.”
I loved my stay. The house is cosy and really lovely. I cannot wait to go back. Bachcare/owner just need to update the house nr from 2 to 3 as it is not number 2 but nr 3. I phoned the bachcare team and they were quick to resolve me not finding the property.

Tessa “Was a little hard to find as we weren't sure which one it was exactly but once we worked that out we had the best 3 nights!”
Warm, cosy and everything we needed. Great having the drying room for our snow gear. Loved the view and setup. We will be back. Definitely recommend!
- Tessa, July 2024Katherine “Our stay was absolutely gorgeous with the spa being a BIG hit!”
! Thank you having us!!
- Katherine, June 2024Andy “It was a lovely stay.”
We really enjoyed the yurt with it's magnificent views of the maunga. The only thing I'd request is that the cleaner checked the water tray in the dryer as it was full to the brim so didn't dry the clothes until I figured it out. Also there was no recycling bin onsite. Another couple of wine glasses wouldn't go amis too :) Otherwise a brilliant location, stunning accomadations and fantastic shower pressure!!! It was our absolute pleasure to stay there with our pup.
- Andy, May 2024Angela “We were very comfortable, the only challenge, was they did not provide the access information, we then had to wait 1 hour upon arrival (after 5 p.”
M. which was well past the 3:00 p.m. check in).
- Angela, March 2024Gilli “Hello and thank you for renting your property to us last week.”
I forgot to write in the visitor's book - I'm sorry! We had a really lovely few days in your Turoa Yurt. It was just what we needed, but so much more! It is a beautiful with great furnishings, clean and comfortable with good facilities. I love walking in Ohakune and so this place was perfect, with a sak in the spa bath afterwards.
- Gilli, January 2024Kelly “Beds need to be a little comfier but everything else was perfect!”
- Kelly, September 2023Ashli “We had the most amazing 4 days!”
I don't think we could have wished for a better spot. The views are beautiful. We were very lucky with the weather, and the mountain outlook is like no other. The yurt was very cosy, great heating and had everything we needed. The spa pool was lovely on a cold frosty morning. Thank you for providing such a special spot for all to share. We might book again for next year!
- Ashli, August 2023Hamid “The house and falicities were absolutely fantastic and new.”
Linen was provided for us so that was super easy. We will deafinately stay here again. The spa water was merkey and there was a pair of knickers in the spa which we realised is likely to happen when renting it out. Also there was a couch pillow cast into the garden. So this out a damper on things. I beleive your cleaners need to possibly pick these things up and bring in order to prevent this. The next door house looked also roughen up so I beleive there was a larger combined party group previous to our visit. That can happen Ofcourse. Other than that we had a wonderful stay, weather was amazing. Thanks very much. Regards Hamid
- Hamid, August 2023Prudence “Weekend away with my girls, fabulous place to stay, Roomie, Comfortable, had everything we asked for, Heating was awesome, and after reading other reviews knew there were a-couple of things that weren’t available, so we came prepared :) There was only 1 thing thou but no major, we arrived late (dark) in the evening found our lane there were a-couple of apartments but we couldn’t find anywhere in our information which apartment was ours (they had names on side of place but couldn’t find which 1 was ours) so after trying the code on both places it was the 2nd one tht was ours.”
So would be nice if there were letterbox numbers or the Name of place at the beginning of the little driveway and on the information provided, but overall loved it and will definitely recommend
- Prudence, April 2023Oment “Really Clean, Unique Bach, great stay”
- Oment, April 2023Richard “Really loved the place.”
Only slight criticism is that it would have been nice to have some shampoo etc included as we were travelling light for a few days and didn't want to have to purchase new. Other than that everything was great.
- Richard, January 2023Sue “A very comfortable home to stay in.”
The only complaint was the absence of soap and shampoo in either shower. If you do not supply it should be on the website.
- Sue, December 2022Emma “Property was amazing!”
Had all the creature comforts and was a great place to relax. Lights were on and heating on when we arrived which felt very welcoming. Linen and kitchenware all high quality. Only very minor feedback is that I found the bed to be a bit too hard (but was fine for my partner). Highly recommend!
- Emma, November 2022Alan “Lovely place to stay.”
We were warm and comfortable even when it was freezing outside. Will definitely be coming back
- Alan, July 2022Corinne “Nice Yurt. Very comfortable beds and pillows.”
Nice views when the mist wasn't around. A few things to note. We found no bins for recycling or rubbish. Oven gloves not provided. Very poor water pressure in the ensuite at the sink. Would question the seating in the lounge area if there were 6 aduts staying. Sofa would have been a squash. The deck & steps require some form of edging dileanation. We had a 3 year old with us and we were worried that she couldn't see the edge.
- Corinne, July 2022Samrithy “Beautiful views, very relaxing and quiet.”
Perfect for the kind of New Years we wanted. The whole place is spectacular.
- Samrithy, December 2021Julie “Lovely place to stay spa ideal”

Everything we needed was there. Very professional rental team .
- Sandra, March 2020Ant “Fabulous property for your stay in Ohakune!”
Well appointed with high quality appliances and finishes. Comfortable and warm also.
- Ant, February 2020Gemma “Family of 4 adults and a 1 year old.”
Yurt had great views (esp from the spa) and was spacious, comfortable and very clean. About a 15/20min walk to the town. Large fridge and good oven/hob. A few games available, bead chess, Jenga and Scrabble which was a nice touch. Bathrooms clean and good water pressure, we were just a little unsure about the full window in the shower (not one way or frosted) Overall we had a great stay and was really enjoyable. Builders were working right next door but they were respectful (no music etc) and this work didn't really bother us much at all. Note: There is no fencing around the property at all and decking around the outside is quite high for children as not fenced.
- Gemma, February 2020Thanks for your review Gemma and glad you enjoyed your experience at this special Yurt. Many properties in Ohakune aren't fenced and we can assure you that the deck height meets the Health & Safety guidelines and doesn't require a barrier, but good to point out for other guests with children. We hope to see you back again soon. Bachcare
Megan “Lovely property but I do think building another one so close will ruin the serenity”
- Megan, January 2020Lynne “The property is a Yurt, and that's what caught our eye online in the first place.”
The photos seemed to look spacious and it therefore ticked all the boxes for a whānau grouping - it allowed us great communal space, whilst also giving us our own private space in the well-placed bedrooms. This was also a fairly new build, so it had such a feeling of glamour about it as a result. The factor that you cannot see online which you just have to experience once you get there though, is the spectacular views of Ruapehu. We took many stunning photos! Oh, and did I mention the outdoor spa? :)
- Lynne, November 2019Jonty “Cosy, warm and modern yurt perfect for a weekend getaway.”
Soaking in the spa with views of the mountain was incredible even if the air temp was 5C. Very idyllic and would highly recommend
- Jonty, September 2019Heather “We really enjoyed our stay here.”
Three good rooms. Comfy beds, beautiful bathrooms and kitchen and lounge. All new and it felt like a little luxury after a day on the mountain. The spa was the icing on the cake. Great rural surroundings.
- Heather, September 2019Vaughan “Great holiday place, well appointed (Miele appliances, Sky TV) and very well presented.”
Spa pool and views are superb.
