Christine “The property was extremely comfortable and had a lovely holiday vibe.”
- Christine, December 2023Brian “Very nice property.”
Peaceful location and great deck. It was great we could take our old dog which we now do not like leaving with other people. Having pet friendly bach a bonus. Only minor comments: Dirty, fatty pan left in oven by previous guests. Also could not find a cork screw. Otherwise well appointed bach and we really enjoyed the tūīs, fantails and weka. - Brian, February 2023Rachel “Gorgeous and very comfortable 80's style cedar clad holiday house with decent kitchen equipment and awesome Weber BBQ, aircon, SkyTV, good washing machine and dishwasher etc.”
Fabulous sun soaked decks, stunning views towards the Sounds and native bush and birds surround. Main bathroom is huge - great for all the kids. Excellent showers & beds. The walk down to the beach on Sandy Bay Rd from the house takes about ten mins - there is not a substantial shoulder or footpath the whole way however so not great for younger kids to navigate on their own, but fine for older teens and adults. Cars tend to take the winding road slowly. We just dropped kids, sun shelter and chilly bin etc down via car then walked back. Would definitely stay again - being able to take our beloved doggo was a big bonus :)
- Rachel, December 2022Asa “The house, location and facilities are amazing and provided the perfect place for a kiwi bach holiday.”
Down side was that all cupboards in the kitchen were jam packed with owners food and no space to store our own without have to rearrange theirs. We also found mouse poo in the cupboards on plates used for eating.
- Asa, December 2022Hi Asa. Thank you for providing a review for your recent stay at Kanuka House. We have passed on your feedback regarding the organisation and cleanliness of the cupboards to our local manager. We hope that you still had a great holiday here and that we will host you again sometime soon. Bachcare
