Angela “We loved this lovely rustic little holiday home.”
We loved the setting and the home feel. Just as feedback our view as follows, although these are minor: The floor could have been swept better but appreciate that where it is, this is difficult. The property did lack storage for guests especially in the kitchen, a couple of drawers or a rack to hang things in the bedroom would be great. The bed in the back room sags in the middle slightly, but otherwise ok Overall we loved this place, the garden and where it is. Thank you for allowing us ...

Hayden “Magical place to stay.”
But terrible beds very hard! Lovely fruit feijoas thank you and kids loved the outdoor bath.
- Marieke, February 2023Thank you for your feedback on the maintenance that is required at the property. We are sorry to hear you felt that way about your stay. We are discussing this with the property owners and working hard on improvements to ensure this home continues to offer an amazing experience to our guests. Bachcare
Julie “We spent a long time cleaning the deck and outdoor table as there was a lot of excess bird poo that had not been cleaned for a while.”
Also poo on one of the glass doors. Loved the property and location. The queen bed mattress needs to be replaced though as it is like sleeping in a ditch. Loved all of the fruit and a really stunning place
- Julie, February 2023Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback and we are sorry that on this occasion the cleanliness of the property was not to our usual high standard. We will organise a deep clean to be done at the property to ensure more in-depth cleaning is completed to ensure this does not happen again. Bachcare
Jane “The lockbox number was wrong so we could not get in.”
My son had to climb in a window which was open ( as per instructions from Bach care.) They said they would call with the correct lockbox number but emailed instead which was not good as I don't check emails regularly. The Bach was well set out but very very dusty. There was a layer of thick dust under each bed and on the bedside shelves and tables. There were crumbs on the couch. The beds are super hard and not comfortable at all. For the price of the Bach wifi would be fantastic and a dryer. The Bach itself was lovely, spacious and a great shower. Very private. The alarm on the water tanks went off with loud beeping and a flashing red light late in the night. We muted the alarm and emailed Bach care.
- Jane, December 2022Thank you for reviewing your stay, Jane. We want to apologise for the property access issues you faced and the subsequent communication breakdown. Your experience will be used as feedback for our processes. With regards to the presentation of the property, I have passed your comments onto our Managed Services team to improve the cleanliness for bookings in the future. We hope you still enjoyed your holiday and we look forward to hosting you again. Bachcare
Kate “Lovely tranquil setting , tasteful contemporary design with plenty of mod cons”
- Kate, November 2022Crystal “I travel extensively in Australia and America normally, it's been a few years since I have traveled NZ.”
So with the pandemic keeping me here in NZ it was a trip to Marahau. We have family in Motueka and its been a few years since I have been out Marahau way. I can say I loved the property. The big section, fabulous kitchen and huge table (indoors and out) and a fire place for the cooler nights is what drew me to this property. When we arrived the property delivered this and more. We'd brought our own supplies but the owners had thought of the scissors or the foil to bake the snapper in. There was Pic peanut butter (a Nelson brand) which was a nice touch. The shower is just bliss, but remember your on tank water, so conserve where you can. What let this experience down for us was I ended up sleeping on the couch for half of the stay. The beds are flexi slat with a very firm mattress. We both had sore backs at the end of our stay. For $332/night I didn't expect to be sleeping on a couch, but that was the only way I was going to get any sleep. If you are a fan of firm beds, this is the property for you. If you want a space to sit and enjoy the sun with the radio on, a cold Mac Ale in hand, dog at your feet and a stack of books, this is the property for you.
- Crystal, April 2022Paula “Marahau Magic is a fantastic place to stay.”
The outdoor entertaining area is amazing and we loved the sink, and the doors to the house that opened right up. The birds were lovely including the native wekas. So peaceful and lovely just sit on the deck and relax. A great break from technology and a chance to just read and relax.
- Paula, November 2021Stephen “A beautiful and spacious property that's a stones throw from the beach!”
Great for kids too. We took our 2 year old and she loved playing in the large fully fenced garden. There were also lots of toys in the property for her to play with. Would definitely use again and recommend to friends/family.
- Stephen, October 2021Janine “Fantastic warm and comfortable bach.”
Loved the garden setting and privacy. Perfect for accompanying dog.
- Janine, October 2021Laura “Pictures don't do it justice, lovely bach very near to the beach.”
Great playground next door for the kids. Great not to have a tv for some quality family time.
- Laura, October 2021Danealla “Very lovely house, nice shower and very quite location.”
- Danealla, August 2020JOHN “Great!”
- JOHN, January 2020Brady “Super easy booking and our bach manager Claire was awesome, really warm and helpful!”
- Brady, September 2019Pauline “A beautiful Bach in a beautiful place at the door of the Abel Tasman National Park”
- Pauline, March 2019Noreen “Loved our stay at Marahau Magic.”
The bach is a really cool design with great indoor/outdoor flow. It's private (not being on the main roads) and perfect for our dog as it's completely fenced. Beach walks every morning, getting away from technology (no wifi), introducing Monopoly to our son (original set at the bach) were our highlights.
- Noreen, January 2019Jane “Great bach, modern, private and well provisioned.”
We would definitely stay here again. Super friendly communication from the manager and we appreciated little touches like the fact that she had set the fire for us if the night got chilly. Thank you.
