    “Reasonably priced for the great location and size of house.”

    Upstairs bedroom has no blinds or door so light and mosquitos a little intrusive but ok. I think signs about not drinking the water would be helpful, but the owner did supply drinking water which was nice. Surface clean is ok but lots of dust, cobwebs under furniture we noticed as we chased a mouse around but all part of a well-used Kiwi bach.

    Thank you for your feedback. We feel that it is evident from the photos that the house has an open plan with the upstairs room not having a door. I do however recognise your feedback and suggested these improvements to the property. We are sorry that on this occasion the cleanliness of the property was not to our usual high standard. We will organise a deep clean to be done at the property to ensure more in-depth cleaning is completed to ensure this does not happen again. Bachcare

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

Hibiscus is a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom Matapouri holiday home. Situated opposite the beautiful Matapouri estuary, this spacious and bright holiday home offers an ideal family set up for a Northland escape! There is ample room for your group to relax, ( please note a maximum of 6 adults ) with 2 sitting areas and easy indoor/outdoor flow... Wander onto the deck and soak up the sun, or enjoy holiday dining by the outdoor fireplace when the weather is cooler. Surrounded by sub tropical gardens, the fully fenced section is perfect for families! The master bedroom at this Matapouri accommodation is located upstairs. Fitted with a king bed, the master bedroom includes an ensuite bathroom plus private deck access with views to the estuary. Downstairs, bedrooms 2 and 3 each have a queen bed, and bedroom 4 is fitted with a single bunk set. The family bathrooms are also downstairs. Kick back at Hibiscus with your group and take in the serenity, stroll across to the estuary, or head to Matapouri Beach just a short walk from your door. Everything you need for a blissful beach break awaits at this Matapouri haven... Hibiscus welcomes you!

About the location

A 10-minute drive from Tutukaka or a 2 hour 25 minute drive from Auckland and you'll find yourself in the marine paradise that is Matapouri. Matapouri is one of those idyllic spots, where every corner you turn you'll find yourself in awe as you stumble upon another azure blue cove lined with Pohutukawa or golden dunes. There's much to explore with Whale Bay nearby being accessed via a 15 minute bush walk, and of course the legendary mermaid pools a large natural set of rock pools set against the ocean perfect for swimming in at low tide.
