Michael “We recently stayed for a week at the Vista retreat in Queenstown.”
Overall the property is of a high standard and has a fantastic outlook, however it lacks a couple of simple essentials that would have given a near perfect rating. The Pros. 1. The location of the property is excellent and the views are spectacular. 2. The open plan design of the property is very practical and comfortably accommodated 2 adult couples and a teenager. 3. The 2 1/2 bathrooms are well sized and were very clean. 4. The property was clean for our arrival and the keys were easily ...
4. The property was clean for our arrival and the keys were easily retrieved. 5. There is very good water pressure and plenty of hot water, enough for all of us even after a cold day on the slopes. 6. Beds are comfortable and sufficient linen and towels are provided. 7. The heating was very efficient and appropriately sized. 8. Plenty of firewood was provided and the fire was easy to light. 9. Wifi was fast and we didn't experience any drop outs or problems. The Cons. This was the first AirBnB or Bachcare we've stayed in that did not have a compendium, creating several difficulties. 1. The dishwasher is an old model and not intuitive, making it challenging to get the settings right (It didn't start the first few times). 2. There is no guide to the Television and we could not get Free to air or satellite TV to work. 3. There is no knowledge of what day the bins are collected on, so we had to leave them full on our departure. Each day we left the house in the dark to get up to the Mountain and therefore had no 'binfluencer' in the street to follow and missed collection day. 4. The Kitchen equipment is understocked if you want to cook a nice meal. A few extra essentials such as colander/strainers, steel for sharpening knives, better frying pans etc. would make a big difference. 5. There is insufficient glassware for the number of guests the house could hold. 6. The Fridge is a bit small for a group of 5+ 7. The heater did not work in the second bathroom The simple addition of a compendium would resolve several of the above issues and be of great benefit to any future occupants.
