Helene “Thank you for letting us stay in this peaceful little hideaway by the lake.”
We had a wonderful time, had everything we needed, and would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing break, not too far from all of the activities in Rotorua.

Rachel “Beautiful property, very comfortable place to stay.”
Loved being able to head down the lawn to the lake for a swim and how quiet and peaceful it was. Thank you for having us, we will be back!
- Rachel, February 2024Karen “It was a delight to meet Ngaire and we thouroughly enjoy the stay at this lovely property.”
- Karen, September 2023Greg “Wonderful stay at beautifully presented, comfortable property in a great location.”
- Greg, July 2023Hemi “Great house and superb location.”
Warm and a homely setup. Would have been nicer to have more privacy from the owner (who lives in the house right beside with no fence in between) as we felt as though we were bring monitored and couldn't relax. Oven is very small so can't cook much in there, sandwich press stopped working and BBQ ran out of gas. Other than that, a pretty cool spot.
- Hemi, June 2023Cheryl “Excellent place to stay.”
Comfortable, clean & tidy, quiet. Loved it. Ngaire is a darling and a wonderful hostess. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Ngaire.
- Cheryl, April 2023Victoria “The property was amazing.”
Ngaire, thank you so much for your hospitality and for opening up your wonderful paradise to me and my little family. We really enjoyed our time away. THANK YOU. We will be sure to visit again. Bachcare - very disappointed with your lack of service, misrepresentation and follow up after our stay. Your advertisement says pets allowed, we paid a supplement pet charge and linen hire. I checked a couple of days prior to ensure our dog could come with us, only to be advised via email the day before that unfortunately this particular property doesn't allow pets. We also arrived and there was no linen or towels available. I attempted to call however no answer. Since staying I've called Bachcare numerous times, to which I haven't had an answer. My emails haven't been answered either. We won't use Bachcare again. Disappointing.
- Victoria, April 2023Thanks for taking the time to review your stay. You will be pleased to know we are currently addressing the issue you raised and we apologise for any inconvenience that occurred. Thanks again Bachcare

Rainbow Cottage is the most well appointed rental accommodation we have ever stayed in with every comfort provided and lovely welcoming touches in all the rooms.. Ngaire, our hostess, is truly delightful and made our stay very special. We would love to return one day to spend a longer period enjoying the cottage and the beautiful gardens and to take time to explore the surrounding area.
