Debbie “Older unit but well kept and clean and tidy.”
Lacked nothing and very nice location immediately beside the lake.

Jenny “Amazing place & situation.”
Thanks for sharing . Really enjoyed it. Just a wonderful place. Very very special . If was very cold when we stayed & it was hard to heat up the lounge & kitchen so we had to bring in a second heater but then this tripped the fuse box if you boiled the jug. A heat pump would help? The rest of the house heated beautifully, though Thank you sooo much . Cheers Jenny
- Jenny, June 2023Catherine “Great location, lovely little batch!”
Perfect for our family.
- Catherine, April 2023Hallie “We absolutely loved our stay at this beaut little spot!”
The house had everything we needed, but the location was our favourite part, my kids couldn’t believe they had their “own beach”. Cannot wait to book it again!
- Hallie, April 2023Sanket “I am very thankful to Owner and Property Manager for arranging it in very short notice as another property we booked in advance was double booked and we had no where to go specially during busy time of Easter weekend.”
Great service
- Sanket, April 2023Pat “We enjoyed our stay at the cottage.”
Beautiful view , oldish but cosy cottage with everything we needed. Close to many activities.
- Pat, April 2023Katrina “Great view, comfy bed, Thanks”
- Katrina, January 2023Nicole “The position of this bach is the highlight and reason to stay.”
The view is wonderful and enjoyed from the lounge, dining/kitchen area and the master bedroom. Very clean and most things you need to enjoy your stay. The bach is older and decor is outdated but the photos show this.
- Nicole, January 2023Maura “Fantastic location with lovely lake views.”
The house itself is adequate however definitely not value for money. The bunks are so uncomfortable and old they cant really be considered as beds - one old tired pillow supplied per bed - suggest anyone staying bring their own bedding. Some minor improvements in additional comfort would greatly add to the stay. Carpet and house really dusty.
- Maura, December 2022Jacob “Awesome property but the bugs (midgies) made any kind of outdoor evening dining/entertaining impossible.”
- Jacob, December 2022Lekshmy “Thank you Bachcare for providing this amazing house.”
We will definitely be coming back. Amazing view.Perfect for kids.
- Lekshmy, January 2022peter “The location is great.”
The shower pressure is terrible you have to run around in the shower to get wet plus the shower rose is low down and it’s basically a bad shower all around.. Beds were comfortable and clean and it has a great view of the lake. It is not bad value for money but the property is a bit tired. There was No out door furniture or BBQ which was disappointing when you want to enjoy life by the lake.
- peter, November 2021Joe “Good quiet little bach.”
Perfect for a relaxing weekend away.
- Joe, April 2021Ben “We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful bach.”
Very quiet that we quickly forgot that we were just a few minutes away from the city. It has all the basics needed for a getaway. Many attractions and family activities including the zipline and boat cruises were just less than 30 minutes drive. We were not looking for a five star hotel but a basic kiwi bach that we can just sit back and enjoy the beautiful lake and the breeze after a full on day of activities and sightseeing. It definitely meet our expectation. Thank you Kirsty for accomdating us on our late arrival time. Thank you Bachcare. Ben and family
- Ben, March 2021Claire “A wonderful old-school kiwi bach with a view that drew audible gasps from our family upon entering.”
Right on the foreshore with an excellent flat lawn for the kids to play while we sat and enjoyed the vista. Great location to explore the Rotorua lakes region. We'd happily stay again - and hopefully will next time we're visiting Rotorua!
- Claire, February 2021Carolyn “Awesome property, fantastic location.”
Would definitely stay again
- Carolyn, October 2020Ann “Lovely ,old style bach with everything you need and the most fabulous views”
- Ann, December 2019Michelle “A lovely little bach right on the lake, perfect for relaxing and close to everything.”
- Michelle, October 2019Ruth “Great Bach with a fantastic view and lake access.”
Great facilities, everything one needed for a comfortable stay.
- Ruth, October 2019Patrick “Looking out at the lake was very relaxing!”
Just a short drive to all the sites. Great place to stay!
- Patrick, October 2019Joanne “Lovely property, clean, and so nice and close to the lake but also nice and close to Rotorua.”
If there had been wifi, it would have been even more amazing.
- Joanne, September 2019Hi Joanne, we are so glad you loved your stay! Yes, this property doesn't have Wifi but we have plenty of other properties that have Wifi available, just apply the Wifi filter when you are searching for properties. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Bachcare
Tonianne “Absolutely stunning being situated in front of the lake coming from a town with none.”
So clean, really well presented and so affordable !! It is really hard nowadays to get good/safe accommodation for a little family get away but this one takes the cake. We will definitely be back. Only downfall - thousands of millions of sandflies. I found out the hard way when the kids left the lights on at bedtime.
- Tonianne, March 2019Hi Tonianne, isn't it just a wonderful property! You're totally right - sandflies love to hang around near the lake. A good bug spray is a great idea for when you're outside! Bachcare
Antonia “Great little cottage for the family to enjoy.”
Our girls loved swimming in the lake right on the backyard.
- Antonia, January 2019Mereana “We booked a lakefront property in Rotorua with Alison Wilson and Joey Herring from Bachcare during the Xmas period.”
The property was very well presented and was perfect for what we needed, just down from our daughters house and the grandchildren absolutely loved it being lakefront and all. The property was very clean and tidy......Bachcare also added some of their own ginger iced cookies as well as some nice cold beers in the fridge when we got there (traveled from Wellington to Rotorua), was such a lovely touch! Communication was also great! Joey came around after our arrival and checked we were ok with everything and also gave us a run down on rubbish/recycling collection days etc. I would highly recommend Bachcare if you are looking for accommodation whilst travelling through NZ or at least to Rotorua! My partner and I spend a lot of time travelling during work down times, and have found Bachcare amazing to deal with. I highly recommend them! AAAA++++++
- Mereana, December 2018Lindsay “Bach upon arriving was as photographed and the outlook to lake was marvellous.”
Very clean and comfortable for five people and we lacked nothing. Would not hesitate booking this bach again.
- Lindsay, October 2018Maria “Loved the property very much plenty of sun in the morning and plenty of room for my kids to play.”
A step away from the lake which was a bonus Lovely property that had everything.
- Maria, September 2018lisa “The house has a great view and location.”
Unfortunately there’s insufficient heating so the house was so cold and mould in bunk bedroom ceiling.
- lisa, July 2018Thank you for your feedback, and we're sorry to hear you found the heating insufficient. There are both fan and oil heaters in this property, and we always list the heating at a property in its amenities to ensure you're well prepared for your stay. We agree that the view is wonderful and hope to welcome you back soon! Bachcare
