Roslyn “Lovely property in quiet street, thoroughly enjoyed it.”
The drawer (2nd one down near the stove) containing mugs, glasses etc needs some attention. The top bracket right hand side is loose so the drawer had a tendency to tilt down unexpectedly and we thought all contents might ended up on the floor. Did leave a comment in the visitors book. Missed having empty drawers & wardrobe space to put our clothes in/on.

Lynette “Thank you for a comfortable relaxing week , as soon as we arrived we felt welcomed by the homely feel of the cottage , and we enjoyed all the modern conveniences plus only a short walk to the beaches and shops !”
Great place to stay !
- Lynette, May 2023Barbara “Lovely cottage in sought after Oneroa - best thing is you can take your dog.”
The gas ran out = the second cylinder hose was leaking - claifont was way too high to reach so cold showers for 2 days.
- Barbara, February 2023Thank you for your review Mrs. Jones Holiday Cottage, we're very sorry to hear about the issues you encountered. We have addressed the problems you have raised with our local team. We hope that despite all this you were able to have an enjoyable holiday. Bachcare
Elaine “Loved our stay.”
Mrs Jones cottage had everything we needed.. plenty of crockery without having to use the vintage plates etc on display It is near enough to Oneroa village and an easy walk to Blackpool beach. Liked that we could park securely inside the gate. The bush backdrop and birds were a bonus. Would recommend to anyone planning a stay at Waiheke.
- Elaine, November 2022Susi “Lovely and well equipped bach.”
We enjoyed our stay very much.
- Susi, October 2022Rachel “Loved our stay at Mrs jones Holiday cottage.”
Really enjoyed the character of the house and all the History. so jealous of the crockery collection! Lovely to be able to have our dog with us too which allowed us to have our sons on the island with us and not leave them behind minding the dog. The view was an added bonus and location was perfect for us. Thank you
- Rachel, October 2022Trish “We had a very enjoyable stay at Mrs Jones Cottage.”
The location is good, the house is warm and dry, there's lots of living space with great facilities, and the beds are very comfortable. We loved the mix of large modern kitchen, bathroom and laundry with homely and old-fashioned furniture and decor, it's quirky and appealing. ________________________________________________________________________________ Note: Happy for you to publish the above comments. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Two other feedback points: - Our instructions said the door on the deck would be left open and the keys left on the dining table - this is what happened, but it took us a little while to figure out that the keys opened the other door (next to the laundry) and did not seem to work on the front deck door. - We used both beds in the bedrooms, as my husband uses a CPAP breathing machine at night and needs lots of bed space. The nights were a bit chilly over the weekend, and the electric blanket on one bed was appreciated, would have been nice to have on the other bed also.
- Trish, September 2022Milly “Had another great stay, thank you!”
- Milly, July 2022Craig “We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mrs Jones’.”
Gorgeous and charming, with a lot of thought given to the feel and comfort of the place. Would love to come back in summer to make the most of the deck and view.
- Craig, May 2022Raey “The house was just the right size for us.”
Beautiful property with lovely relaxing views. Place was very neat and tidy and we loved the beautiful bathroom. Grateful we could have our furry friend with us as well..
- Raey, May 2022Marie “Property was exactly what we were looking for.”
Excellent for small dogs.
- Marie, January 2022christine “Very clean ,everything we needed-great comfy beds-will come again- thanks”
- christine, January 2022Regina “Perfect place to relax or venture out walking.”
There is a bush walk starting at the rear of the section taking you to Blackpool Beach. The house has everything you need, clean, great decor, parking and fantastic outdoor barbecue area with sea and garden views. Loved the fact my little dog was welcome. I loved my stay. I love Waiheke as I lived there as a child.
- Regina, January 2022Janene “We had a really lovely weekend on Waiheki, made special by the lovely house and the fact that we could bring our dog.”
We will definitely come again.
- Janene, January 2022Kirsten “Fantastic house and location which the whole family loved, including our little dog as the gates/fences were dog proofed.”
He had his best holiday yet! Would definitely consider booking again.
- Kirsten, January 2022Milly “Delightful combination of old and new, like staying in a museum but with all the mod cons.”
Very well equipped and super clean and tidy. Generous size for the 5 of us (2 adults, 3 kids), plus dog. Even though kids are welcome you might want to think twice before bringing a toddler due to the amount of breakables in the house - in saying that our kids were perfectly fine with it. Kids loved exploring the backyard which takes you into the reserve behind. Front yard and deck securely fenced so great for kids and dog. Lovely quiet location but close enough to walk to shops, restaurants, beaches, playground etc.. Was absolutely perfect for our family, will certainly be back.
- Milly, July 2021Heidi “Very nice clean home with a nicely appointed kitchen.”
- Heidi, June 2021Ruth “Mrs Jones' Cottage was a wonderful place to call home for a short stay on Waiheke.”
Beautifully presented with well chosen retro furniture and decor all inkeeping with the age of the bungalow. Lovely views of Te Hurihi Bay and pony club seen from the large deck. Bonus was being able to share the time with our dog who obviously loved it just as much as us humans. Fully fenced at the front from the road, therefore safe for dogs and/or children. Will definitely be back.
- Ruth, April 2021Ian “If you are considering a stay at Waiheke Island I can whole heartedly recommend a stay at Mrs Jones's Cottage.”
It is so beautifully decorated, combining both nostalgia, with the new and modern kitchen and bathroom and the most comfortable of beds. The house was immaculately presented.. we all really loved our stay there.
- Ian, March 2021Mike “Clean, quirky but still family friendly.”
- Mike, February 2021Stacey “Very well considered decor, clean and modern with touches of old NZ Nice ...”
Very well considered decor, clean and modern with touches of old NZ Nice bedding ,ideal for a small group Lovely water view out from Blackpool
- Stacey, February 2021Teresa “What a fabulous place to stay!”
We'll definitely be booking again. Great location, quirky vintage decor, lots of character and absolutely perfect for dogs ( very well fenced).
- Teresa, January 2021Kate “What a lovely place to stay, beautiful quaint house with modern kitchen and bathroom, immaculately clean, lovely view from the deck, idyllic.”
- Kate, December 2020Katrine “Charming and convenient wee cottage, with a lovely porch overlooking a pretty bay, native bush, a horse paddock (oddly, home to Pippi's horse!”
) a garden with Kauri-trees and a small stream full of ducks. We fell asleep to the sound of pukekos and had morning coffee with the bellbirds. Perfect strolling distance to the beaches in Oneroa and Little Oneroa (our favourite) as well as the town. The house is small but was perfectly comfortable for us (a family of three + two grandparents) and well kitted out, with lots of games and with friendly instructions for everything.
- Katrine, January 2020Amanda “We enjoyed our 3 night stay here.”
Wonderful views, beautiful cottage with a good mix of old and new. Easy walk to beaches and town.
- Amanda, January 2020Alexandra “We had a wonderful stay.”
I could not think of anything you could do to improve this lovely bach and all its amenities.
- Alexandra, January 2020Veni “Mrs Jones is a great holiday cottage that reminded us of the cottage in the movie 'The Holiday'.”
It is situated in a convenient spot, close to the town and Oneroa Beach. It is within walking distance but it takes about 15 minutes. We preferred using our car as parking at the back of Oceanview Drive was convenient and we carried a few necessities for us and our dog. You can however take lovely morning and evening strolls to the lesser used beach down the road. It was fully equipped with all the appliances that you need, even with some groceries left by previous guests. The website said that it had a coffee plunger but there is also a Nespresso machine. It's a great cottage for 2-4 people.
- Veni, December 2019Andrea “We had a wonderful stay at Mrs Jones cottage.”
It surpassed all our expectations. We especially appreciated being able to have our two little dogs with us. Loved the peaceful location, retro decor combined with modern kitchen and bathroom, birdsong and outlook over native bush, the gates on the deck which meant we didn't have to worry about our dogs' safety. We followed your recommendations and went to Solar Cafe (every day) and the beautiful Owhanake reserve. Also discovered the track at the end of Blackpool beach that leads up to Church Bay, so tons of things to do. The cottage is close to Oneroa and Blackpool so although we took our car we would have been fine without it. We will definitely stay there again, couldn't find a better place on Waiheke !!
- Andrea, October 2019Paula “Highly recommended”
- Paula, September 2019Jo “Cute cottage with loads of charm and lots to discover.”
Wonderful vintage collection in the house. Perfect for two people. Within walking distance of Oneroa village, wineries (MudBrick a must!) and the beach.
- Jo, August 2019Richard & Susan “Nice accommodation with everything required for an enjoyable stay.”
- Richard & Susan, July 2019Emma “Our stay was truly delightful.”
It was a perfect first genuine "bach" experience; from the rainwater showers, fluffy baby pukeko wading in the stream, ponies grazing across the way, the spacious deck, the vintage decor and boardgames, and the easy, clean bathroom and kitchen. Just like your favourite grandma's home, only better!
- Emma, March 2019Rachel “Great place to stay!”
Close to everything, cafes, bus stops, loved the collection of dvds for the rainy days. Awesome views from deck. Had everything we needed.
- Rachel, March 2019Janice “Nicely presented property.”
Nice deck and we'll kitted out. Only negative is that it's quite a long walk to shops and beach and also from bus stop with luggage in the heat.
- Janice, January 2019Jade “Walkable to everything, the bus stop, village and the beaches either side.”
Perfect for 2 couples. Great deck with a view of the pony club fields and the sea.
- Jade, December 2018Penny “Amazing bach with lovely view of ocean and beautiful interior”
- Penny, November 2018suzanne “Loved our time at Mrs Jones Cottage.”
